Westlake Golf Club

About
Against the amethyst slopes of the Silvermine mountains lies one of cape town's premier courses - Westlake. This 18-hole par 72 course is covered with lush vegetation with towering trees lining many of the fairways. A very interesting but user-friendly design with quite a few doglegs. Not a long course and if you manage to stay out of the trees you will achieve a good score. From the 1st to the 18th hole, every step affords panoramic views of the surrounding mountains Established in 1932 Westlake Golf Club welcomes visitors with its special blend of old world charm and modern amenities in an atmosphere of conviviality and camaraderie.
Location: The golf course is situated on the Cape Peninsula

Cape Town visit
I am in Cape Town, SA for work and found time to get a round in. Since there is a water crisis in Cape Town, there are few golf courses that are actually really nice. They are green and plush because they use "effluent" water (recycled and filtered water).
I was fortunate enough to play Westlake Golf Club near Muizenberg area. 6500 yards from the tips, 6250 yards from the whites. Though the course is generally flat, it was still GORGEOUS!! Great staff! Great people I played with. AND it's mandatory that one stop after the turn to eat (10-15 minute stop). The only thing I did not like were the rental clubs. They only have Callaway Warbird woods and irons. They weren't crisp, but I eventually managed. Not playing for 2 months and using sub-par clubs, I wound up shooting an 88 (47-41).
I would still highly recommend this course.
