Virginia Golf Club - Championship Course

On Arrival, there is more than enough parking and the clubhouse looks fairly dated from the outside but is nice and receptive on the inside with a full bar and good food.

The course however does not live up to it's motto...

"The Course of Champions", even though Greg Norman 2 time Open Champion grew up on this course, the course does not meet this standard... The greens were rolling at an average pace, the fairways were a bit patchy and there are way too many trees, especially gum-trees which can suck up all the moisture which leads to the dry fairways...

Would recommend this course to anyone who is just looking for a social hit but not for anyone who is a serious player of a low handicap.

This course demands respect and rewards straight hitting off the tee box. Whilst the general fairway conditions were very firm due to dryer than average recent weather conditions, the greens were in tremendous condition and allowed attacking play. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and overall this was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of golf.
