Great first visit
Played a round here for the first time and loved it...
Course is a really nice design, quite a few long holes and bunkers that pose a decent, but fair, challenge!
I played 2 days after the July heavy rains and was surprised at how well the course had coped - drainage works are ongoing, and I think when finished the course will be in great nick.
Fabulous clubhouse and warm-up facilities, and a really friendly pro-shop and members!
Alex
Slowest pace of play I’ve ever experienced
1.15 tee time. Supposed to be in a 4 ball but pro shop tells us to just tee off as it’s clear. First few holes are fine and then we Get to the long par 3 5th hole and 3 groups are waiting to tee off. The 6th is a par 3. Again a 20 min wait. Groups of two playing everywhere. We group up with the group behind us but ahead it’s like a nightclub. 4.02pm we finally play our tee shots on the 10th. We’re through 12 by the time light calls an end to the day at 4.50pm, near 4 hours for 12 holes. An absolute joke.
Pro shop at Strathfield when the tee sheet is full YOU HAVE TO MAKE PEOPLE STICK TO 4somes That is your job.
Great course, quite busy but well managed
Great course, quite busy but well managed. Clubhouse is very new and modern. All round a good course and worth playing.
Drainage works almost complete at course, I can see it will be a great place to play once all done!
Course closed - no comms
Course was closed but no notification or comms saying so. Had to drive 45 mins only to discover it was closed through a physical sign. It’s 2025, put something up on the internet. Last time I ever play here
Great layout and facilities: works an issue
Played an entertaining 18 holes midweek on what is a well provisioned (driving nets, putting and chipping practice areas) and designed course.
However, the ongoing drainage works are the reason for the poor review, along with just how busy the course was….with groups backing up throughout the day. Plus, website didn’t explain hole 15 was closed.
They offer a discount for the drainage works, probably not enough of a discount.
Tight course with good layout.
For the inner city a surprisingly good layout with long holes. Plenty of decent length 4’s and the par 5’s are tough to reach in 2. Tight fairways reward accuracy with both trees and clever bunkering. The course is undergoing some renovation / a couple of fairways have been recently dug up for drainage (seems to struggle in the wet generally) and the greens just cored. But it’s well maintained, lovely practice putting and chipping area and a great clubhouse.
Worst I’ve played in Sydney -pains me
I have to be honest this does pain me to write a poor review but the condition of the course for the cost warrants it. It was awful, layout is great and with TLC could be superb but at the moment the course is not in a good position. Greens were terrible, tees not much better and overall very disappointing. However staff are fantastic and friendly offering first class service. Shame the course doesn’t marry well with them. I’ve ended up writing this as I see the price has gone up to 75 dollars. Definitely not worth it. Try Wakefield at 70 dollars and you will understand.
Highly recommend for value for money
Beautiful course with an incredible clubhouse.
Course in very good condition.
Only drawback was the course being very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Pace of play was quite slow
Jan golf
Lovely course. Played midweek at 1.16pm t off.
Took us 4.45hrs to get round as it was clogged up in front of us. Surprising as there was noone in sight when we teed off
Lovely set up, great staff. Fun course, enjoyed it will come again.
Great course
This course has been revamped and is now a championship quality 5900 m par 70.
It has some seriously challenging holes.
Fairways and greens guarded by enormously challenging bunkers. Greens raised on platforms.
This is a great course. Well worth playing.
no Markers
No markers on fairway, and no information on each hole when you are teeing off. Bring a range finder if you want to play here.
Potential to be great
Currently too much work being done, has potential to be a true Championship layout. Its a pity as it was a great day, Too many temporaries.. However the greens were very good and rock hard, the fairways also good, Once its finished this will be great, lots of money being spent on new clubhouse etc ..Friendly courteous members that were very helpful. Look out for it in the future. I played ti my handicap and could have done even better if i didnt blow the last 2 holes.
