TBH Worst golf course experience
I had a really disappointing experience at this golf course. Right at the first tee, there were 5–6 kids playing right next to the tee box, which felt very unsafe. There are also numerous walking paths around, making it even more dangerous, and there was no staff to manage or control this.
The tee times were scheduled less than 5 minutes apart, which made everything feel extremely rushed and “squeezed in.” The hole directions were poorly marked, so I got lost multiple times. The course conditions were terrible, especially if you’re not a local or a frequent player—it was really difficult to navigate.
Additionally, all the holes are par 3–4, so I barely got to use a driver at all. For amateur golfers like me, this course is definitely not recommended. I won’t be coming back.
Swampy Marsh post the big rains
Currently the course in a terrible condition. Most host have swamp like conditions. That sounds like an exaggeration, however the green fee of $33 + $0.50 card processing surcharge does not align with the fee currently.
Warning ⚠️ Do not wear good golf shoes if venturing onto the course until we have a big dry period.
The course has far too many artificial grass tee boxes.
Very wet
For a first time user it was not clear where to go - after the 9th some regulars sent us to the path along the river- it was too wet to pass with a buggy- a sign would have been helpful
Challenging but fun
Had a lot of fun playing at Marrickville which was open when most of the Sydney courses were closed due to wet weather
Many challenging par 3s, and quite a hilly terrain
Greens were in good condition, a lot of surface water on the fairways
Nice clubhouse
Challenging but fun
When most other courses were shut due to wet weather Marrickville was open
Although there was a lot of surface water on the fairways the greens were in nice condition
A lot of challenging par 3 holes and quite a hilly terrain
Great fun will be back sometime
Great considering the weather that week
Only criticism would be big groups on course and slow play. Could do with marshals ensuring play keeps moving.
Average course, unfriendly & unhelpful staff but reasonably priced
As I was playing at the course for the first time I would have appreciated a score card, some info about the course (where to go / map), the people in front / behind us (like a name) and possibly a reason for the changes to our bookings.
The course is okay and reasonably well maintained so general good value for money.
Low levels of golf etiquette on the course e.g. people just tee-ing off while you are still playing (literally after we started, we were stuck behind very slow players), for example not knowing there is a 'ring the bell' system after you finish certain holes which meant someone almost got hit (it hit his bag), this is specifically something I've seen other courses brief players on before they start the course as they check-in. So maintenance is pretty decent but staff at the shop 'sub-optional performance'.
Suggest putting up some signs to help guide people to park their cars.
Overall would recommend you give it a try but rather try go with someone that's played there before.
fun course, but needs TLC
Fun Par 3/4 course with a few really challenging Par 4s.
The whole course is in need of TLC and looks quite beaten up. Fairways and greens in decent condition, but paths, buggy trails etc are in serious need of repair and refurb.
Super friendly and helpful staff, will play there again.
Dadnsons
Friendly staff a nice layout good use of space a couple of elevated holes out of sight which were interesting
Public course, too many people walking around.
I played here on a Sunday it was a nice day there were people walking around playing music, drinking and obviously have zero golf etiquette. A group of 7-8 people were in-front of us, with only 1 set of golf clubs taking multiple tee shots and slowing down everyone behind. The club should be more strict on this as it just disrupts everyone else trying to enjoy their round of golf. Overall course was OK, tee boxes could do with some fixing.
Good value, slow due to inconsiderate grouos
Friendly staff, great 19th hole facilities. Course in okay condition, considering its riverside location. Two groups of five, taking forever and acting like teenage idiots, not so good.
Ashamed
Don’t know how can be called golf course.
Few holes closed, greens are a mix between fairways and bunkers, the first challenge is to get rid of mosquitos before any shot.
Definitely not a good experience.
I paid for 18 holes and I played 9 and asked for a refund.&
