Colts Neck Golf Club

About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Great conditions as always. A decent amount of leaves but there’s nothing you can do about it this time of year. If you haven’t played this course it’s a must.
Great fall golf
Course was in fantastic condition given the time of year, greens were fast and receptive, fairways manicured. Tee boxes have been punched recently but no big deal. Absolutely beautiful course for fall golf.
Overpriced Course
Tee boxes were either aerated or very full of divots.
Fairways had quite a few divots.
Greens were relatively okay.
At a $125 for the round I would expect the course to be in much better shape.
Course looks good
Only second time playing and to me it is the best course I have played.
Local golfer
Course was excellent. Recently aerated so greens were tough to follow a line. Pace of play was a bit slow. Waited every shot. Would definately go back at the golf now hot deal price!
WORST COURSE IN NJ
I am an avid golfer that plays 40-50 rounds a season in the Monmouth, Mercer and Ocean county area. This place is HORRIBLE. The design is super short with little to no challenges. The pace of play is horrendous. I asked the ranger or someone that looked like a member of the staff to please talk to the group ahead to keep pace and he drove away in the opposite direction. No one at the clubhouse informed me which holes were cart path only. There is no signage or ropes that inform you that holes are cart path only. The way that me and my foursome found out is when are carts shut down in the middle of the fairway. This place is an absolute CLOWN SHOW. The 12th hole looks like bomb blew up the fairway. Apparently the brain trust that run this place changed the layout and converted a par 3 to a par 4 except the GPS wasn’t updated and our carts shut down because it said we were on the wrong hole. All day long our carts were either shutting down, beeping or telling us we were on the wrong hole. I literally took pictures of my disabled golf cart telling me I was out of bounds when I was ON THE CART PATH !
If you want an overpriced course, with terrible conditions, no challenges, unprofessional staff that does not manage pace of play, golf carts that have inaccurate GPS then you have found your home. I should have read the endless number of NEGATIVE reviews prior to wasting my time and money at this sad excuse for a golf course. Don't take my word for it. Read the numerous other reviews that share my experience.
Mr Bru Bru
Great layout. Greens even though aerated were fast and consistent. Fairways cut very tight. A few chewed up tee boxes but that’s to be expected this late in the season. I def recommend playing here. I Love the fact they remind u to fix ur ball marks. They should have an electric shock on ur seat when u come off the green and u don’t fix ur ball marks!!!!😃😃😃
Solid course
Great layout, not much water. Friendly staff. Pace of pay is really good, greens were not
Rolled but still playable
A Few Improvements could be made
The course had just aerated the fairways, which wasn't on the GolfNow site.
Greens hadn't been cut that day and were in "shaggy" condition.
Would only rate it "average" for the cost involved.
Great course but overpriced
I had a 4:18 tee time booked with a cart but after I paid the guy behind the desk told me the carts had to be back at 6:15. I made it through 9 holes and had to bring back the cart. I wasn’t going to walk the other 9 holes, which I had no idea how to get to. I wish someone told me I was only going to have the cart for only 2 hours. I wouldn’t have paid for 18 holes if I had known that I wasn’t going to be able to finish.
Good Course
Early October and conditions are only fair. Greens are still recovering from aeration and the fairways are recovering too. The changed the 12th hole to play as a par 4 and I guess a par 3. As we were going to our balls playing it as a par 4 the cart just stopped saying we were in a restricted area. The cart path only warning came on the screen when we were approaching the par 3 tee annoying. The parking lot cart rules are ridiculous, maybe during peak season it’s needed but definitely not now.
