Nice Course

It was our first time playing at SkyView. The guys we hoped up with played several times before and were great guides. We will definitely go back and play again.

Awesome views

Course was in great shape. First time playing it and there are several holes with blind shots so that made it very challenging. Restaurant is only open on weekends so that was disappointing given its remote location and lack of food nearby. I’d go back

Hole 4 was dangerous.

Hole 4 is bad anyway. When it is wet it is treacherous. We skidded and turned the cart 180 degrees. Other than that crazy hole...good course.

Good Value

Hadn’t played Skyview in a long time. Good layout and challenging holes. Greens are undulating but fair. The course is short, but there are a couple uphill par 4s that will play longer.

North Jersey Favorite

A very fair golf course. Takes a few rounds to get the feel but then it becomes quite enjoyable. Lots of great views and scenery. Wide fairways and well maintained greens.

Fun layout

Fun layout built into the hills of northwest jersey. Open and tight, great variations. Played on a cold wet day, but still enjoy it. Greens in excellent shape for so early in the season. Will definately play it agian.

Very Very Cool Layout be ready for some shot making golf

After about .4 inches of rain overnight I searched Golfnow for nearby late round deals (under $35 with Cart I consider) Landed at SkyView GC in Sparta NJ in early April and the course was in fun shape (low rough no fescue) and greens running true! Bunkers played true and I did not see any with standing water which after the rain I was impressed by. The course layout is certainly a challenge for any golfer who does not have great control of trajectory because of the many different elevations you will be hitting from/to. I'd recommend keeping the driver in the bag at this shorter course and make sure you find the short stuff off the tee. Will be back!

Scenic

Can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this round. The course wines through the woods And a mountian. I could see some people not liking it if they spray it. It feels narrow at times and the elevation changes are tough to figure out. But I really enjoyed the challenge. It was cart path only. The walking was tough. But since I normally walk when I play. It wasn’t an issue. It’s a trip from nyc. But worth it.

A great place to play

Played 10/4 - the course was in pretty good shape, but soggy two days after rain. That meant cart path only, and a lot of casual water. Also, the greens were recently aerated.

I’m okay with aeration - it’s that time of year. And there is no way carts should be off the path when the course is that wet. But, do yourself a favor and give a call before you book to ask about the paths. There are a lot of paths that run far from the center cut, and the hills can be brutal.

This course is a real challenge

From the moment you get out of the car you get a friendly greeting. Unfortunately I was there on a day when it was cart path only and also hot. I hope to come back and play later in the year when you can drive the cart on the fairway. Can't wait to return.

Cart path only

I played Skyveiw today for about the 20th time. I was more than disappointed that it was cart path only. I was not informed in any way till I got there. I am to old to be walking and searching for my ball, taking 3 clubs all the

way across a fairway. And to be honest only 2 holes were wet enough to avoid! If I knew in advance, I would not have played.

Better bring your “A” game with you!!

As far as the course goes this is one of the nicest you can play in NJ. So pleasing on the eyes!! You can seriously get lost in the scenery. This course is very hard. You need to hit the fairway or it can easily spiral into a double or triple bogey hole.

A few suggestions:

1. Give some type of yardage book. Better yet maybe a tip sheet to help with all the blind shots you will take on this course.

2. Make it a par 70!! Give us back a stroke hahaha ...you can easily change one of those long par 4’s into a par 5. On paper it says it on the shorter side as far as yardage. I promise you it plays so much longer with all the elevation changes.

3. This was my only negative on the day. Normally this stuff wouldn’t bother me but it was on another level. The cart girl was so rude and nasty to my group. She just straight up drove past us 4x without even slowing down or looking to see if we were waving her down. The young lady working the snack shack after Home #8 also seemed like she couldn’t be bothered. These young ladies need to take a lesson from the young man at the first tee box. He tried to give us a few tips, got us out on time and recommended a few other local courses when I asked for his opinion. That was a great way to start our round.

All In all it was a first class course! If you’re an hour or so drive from this course get in your car and check it out.
