horrible.
the course is in such a horrible condition, the pro shop was closed when we got there, also no rangers at all to control the pace of play or managing the course. one time during the round today, there were six people on the green, a person was taking a picture for each of their group while they were putting. Never seen it before in my 20 years of golf. Not worth the green fee (95 dollars) at all. I felt like I got scammed after the round.
Tam 0’shanter
Wanted to get on before it closes on Halloween. Still a fantastic course. Tees, fairways, and rough are still very good shape still. Greens still a solid roll. Blows my mind though, with the clientele that goes here, it’s not a muni, they can’t bend over and fix their ball marks. Saw better greens at bethpage that had less divots on the green. Nothing to do with the staff, just lazy golfers. Still worth the price in my opinion to play a higher end former CC.
One Staffer said next year is till up in the air, they do not know what is going to happen. Part of the contract with those that bought the course was to keep the course playable. Sad to see a good track like that go to waste.
Enjoy Tam while you can
Having seen some disparaging reviews regarding cours conditions I was pleasantly surprised to find the course very playable. Sure the greens show wear and lack of normal maintenance, but they were mown and putted very well. Fairways are still excellent and the rough is manageable. We would play again just the way it is
Not bad
Course was a little beat up and the lack of yardage markers was frustrating. Often I found myself in search of one to no avail. Also, tee boxes seemed to be all over the place with how the on card and on sign yardage aligned. Many times it wasn’t even close.
Course condition
played last 2 weekend
Course used to be good condition, lay out is challenging
However, due to bankrutpcy some areas are not in excellent condition but can tell it was a very nice course
fairway grass good, but green condition , need people self respect to repair ball marks
only 1 starter to collect $ ,, Dennis very friendly and one helper ....
its ok, but with $106 suppose play at Windwatch Hauppage had better amenities
pace of play reasonable ....no one hold up the pace.......
it might change hands to another investor , but then will be private........
however,, played twice is a good experience
Conditions deteriorating
Played here many times this year but today was the first time in 4 weeks. What happened to the greens? Many brown spots, ballmarks andsome patchwork. Traps were very inconsistent. No evidence that greens or fairways have been aerated. A shame. Not.worth the price tag. One positive remains constant: Super nice and competent starter!
yes course a litte beat up
yardage, we had to use own GPS , even at most golf course
the marker and or flag dpnt mean anything
T oxes Black and blue mix
apparently try to make the grass grow back
dont know why even par 4 seen big divot ?
T off with iron ??
many uphill so 100 yards to green may mean 120
i think a pole show where the turn will be , can be helpful
