Greens roll at different speeds, the greens have patched up areas, the t boxes have bare spots.

I'm not going back!

It’s pricey after all the add-ons; I.e., $95 greens fee, $2.49 convenience fee, $7.xx sales tax, 4% credit card fee or if you pay with cash the cashier doesn’t make change so may as well use the card. Total $110.xx. The course is in ok shape given it’s recent sale to a developer; however, a number of greens have more than one kind of grass due to winter issues(?), signs of it beginning to look a little run down, the club house is closed. The half way house has snacks and rest rooms. I enjoyed it but won’t be back.

Had nice time at course was private course opened to public. Staff was very friendly no 9 holes only 18. Course is in good shape and know will be closed in future for development so nice have chance & play there. Good course , challenging & long. Had a gr8 time.

Playing at a private course is a rare opportunity. Tam O'Shanter is a gorgeous course layed out in old school fashion - tight -Short walk from green to the next tee. Would very much like the chance to play here again..

Great course. Really fun layout. Wish that it would stay public and not be turned into a housing development. Shame to lose a new great public option.

In my opinion Greens need more attention. They are slow. I believe they need pressing and cutting. Divot are not been fixed in Fairways and greens. Players fault

A vey good experience but no amenities. This was a private club bought by a developer pending zoning for 2 acre homesites. Everything is shut down except golf course. Grass range and pitching, sand practice areas are a big plus for warm up or practice. Overall conditions are above average but at morning and midday rates of 90.00, I expected a notch better. Obviously the maintenance budget has been cut. Bare bones staff. No pro shop. - pay the starter. However there is an open halfway house at the turn. Layout is good but a a few shorter par 4’s but putting a premium with accuracy or hitting a fade drive. Miss the fairway badly and many holes have very tall grass beyond the rough. Traps had mostly shallow sand with some exceptions. Fairways are in good shape. Par 3’s are challenging. Greens are generally very good with exception of maybe 6 holes where sod was patched but in most instances this was well planted with no effect on putt roll. One instance where the seam was gapped and didn’t allow a smooth putt. I moved my ball a few feet over to avoid this. Greens are overall true, slightly above average speed. I expected faster. As usual, there were many unrepaired ballmarks. What’s up with some of you? Fix your ball marks!!! Typical of pay to play courses. Overall, I’ll be back there.

We had first tee time and played in 4.5 hrs. There was never anyone behind us on any hole. When we were on our way in the starter complained that we were killing him and next time don't book early time. We took our time only because we never had anyone behind us. There are to many nice courses on LI where they appreciate our business. I will not return for $105.

nice layout. no complaints. wish they would keep it as a public course

It’s understandable what we’ve all gone through this past year and that this fine course will be going thru some real estate development changes. But the on course restrooms were filthy, atrocious and unacceptable with garbage overflowing. It doesn’t take much to correct this and have golfers on this excellent course feel comfortable, and more importantly, safe. Most have already accepted there’s no clubhouse to enter or any other amenities.
