Tam O'Shanter Golf Club

Course was well maintained, but we lost many balls in the 2nd cut off the fairway. Grass was very high a d balls settled down and could not be found.

Also, the private course has gone public but the clubhouse, pro shop is now closed and not available to the public.

Course has great layout. Played in less than 4 hours. Woll be back.

Me and three friends played the course on Sunday June 6th. We had a 9:00am tee time. We booked the time on Golf Now. They priced the course at $105.00. When we got there the starter who was in a booth outside the building, we were charged $118.61. He then said guys we need to get you out right away. It was 8:30, we didn't even have time to warm up or get even loosen up. On the course there was no water, no cart person to sell refreshments. The bathrooms look like they were cleaned in weeks and the course itself was not in the shape were were use to seeing at Tam O'Shanter. We played the course many times in the pass and we were shocked at the poor condition. The starter Dennis G. was not to friendly and when I questioned the price. He said there was tax and service charges, which was not mentioned on the Golf Now reservation. I would stay away from this course as it looks they are just looking to get your money with no regrads to player.

I was a member for ten years. The conditions are almost similar to country club quality. My only complaint is that the greens are extremely slow.

Save your money and play elsewhere. Course and facilities are in disarray. One round will make you not want to come back

$115 a round for very mediocre conditions. Greens have not been rolled in ages and rest of course needs to be manicured. My gut tells me in a few weeks this will get worse, not better. They seem to have a shortage of carts and no amenities, and does not appear to be much of a maintenance crew here.

Love the layout need to do more course grooming specially on the greens major improvements from or we could go they will get there this could be and excellent course to play let them get their

In Nassau County, there are so many courses but so few of them are actually open to the public. This course is challenging but currently not in as great of shape as when I played it while it was still a private club. I hope that they choose to remain open to the public after this season. It didn’t seem as though there was a pub or restaurant open in the clubhouse to go to after the round. That would be a nice addition. Great course!

Course is not terrible but definitely not worth $105. They are getting away with that price because it was once a private country club. You can tell they are letting it go since it is closing this winter.

Not being a member I could only check out this course while driving by. But today I really enjoyed playing there for the first time. The layout and conditions were very good. The greens are slow but manageable. There's no pro shop or place to get a drink so bring your own. We all enjoyed the play and are planning our next round there.

Sorry to say that this course is not very well taken care of. What a shame ! The course is challenging and has some great holes but the tee boxes and paths are unkept and the greens are hairy and long. So slow it was hard to chip and putt the ball close to the hole.
