Todd Creek Golf Club
About
Arthur Hills designed the 18-hole golf course at the semi-private Todd Creek Golf Club (previously known as Heritage Todd Creek Golf Club). Opened in 2007, the golf course is 7,435 yards from its championship tees. Nestled near the Rocky Mountains, Hills used the natural landscape to create an exceptional course. Native grasses and wetlands make up the course's rolling terrain, which undergoes several changes in elevation. A creek also creates water hazards on the course while adding to the peaceful atmosphere. Undulating fairways and strategically placed bunkers also add interest to Todd Creek Golf Club. Golfers can enjoy spectacular views of the Rockies while playing this challenging, but fun course.

No Aeration Notice
The recent aeration should of been noted when it was booked on line. The greens were rough.
Pace of Play/Lack of Marshal
As in reading other reviews, pulling into the community and up to the clubhouse, greatly impressed. Out to the driving, again highly impressed! On the first tee, great view. Then, get to the first green......Horrendous! Yes, they just air ratted, but many parts of the greens were dead.
For the worst experience on the course, the pace of play. Took two and halls hours for our twosome to play nine holes. Waiting at least five minutes on each tee box. The twosome in front of us, hitting two balls off the tee box more than not. Expecting to see a marshal to rectify the problem, one never came around. Expecting to mention something to a cart girl, one never came around. This is at 2 in the afternoon. Deciding not to play the back nine and finish the round at about 7 in the evening, head back to the clubhouse. Speak to the kid at the desk of the clubhouse, and get no reaction, apology, explanation for no marshal. Just here's rainchecks.
Will never ever think about playing there again. This course was the worst experience I have had playing golf.
One plus, the course layout was excellent.
Really bad
Greens are in terrible shape. Poa and dead spots everywhere. 15 actually looked like a checkerboard it was in such bad shape. Slow round. They also only have 2 water jugs out on the entire course so bring a few water bottles.
Greens are fast!
The greens are fast and small!
The fairways are good!
Disappointing day after reading rave reviews
After reading the rave reviews and driving into the parking lot to see a multi-million dollar club house with great practice facilities, I and my other two playing companions were excited to say the least.
However, it became clear that we were merely paying for that clubhouse and not the experience. The first negative mark against this club came when the proshop employee informed us that I only booked for two - I then showed him the confirmation email showing that I booked for three. Despite that, he told us that we had to play with two other guys (whose tee time got bumped up a half hour from 3:36 to 3:06) or all five of us couldn't play (adding on that they had to turn away many other players that day due to overbooking on their end). So, after driving over 40 minutes to get here, we all decided it was best to play as a fivesome. We had no issues playing with one another, but the round took ~5.5 hours and it was 90º+ outside.
The course layout was moderately interesting with the bulk of the visual stimulation being at the tail end of the course. Despite a few forced carries, a couple water hazards, and elevation changes, the layout was very repetitive. I went driver-wedge on every par 4 (playing the tees at 7000 yards).
The course conditions were atrocious for what they normally charge. Almost every fairway was hairy making links style "bump 'n' runs" impossible, greenside rough was unusually thick compared to off the fairway, greenside bunkers were as hard as concrete while fairway bunkers were wet, and you could tell the course just all around needed water. The absolute worse areas of the course were the greens. They appeared to be diseased (splotchy, dead areas), held no approach shots, were double cut and rolled, top sanded, and had mud clumps littering almost every surface. I know this is a links layout, but when the course is as windswept as this one, the greens keeping staff needs to do a MUCH better job about keeping their greens in good shape instead of trying to make them as firm and non-receptive as possible. Everyone in my group hit at least 5 putts that immediately skirted off line, no putts outside ~8' held their lines, and lags were actually impossible. Very disappointing.
The worst part of the experience was that the course had no drinking water on the back nine. Our playing companions we were grouped with offered to buy us a round of Gatorade/water at the turn but we all decided we could wait until the cart girl came around on the back nine. This was a mistake because despite being told by staff that she would make another round, she never came back out. I called the course and requested drinks be sent out after encountering empty jugs, and was informed that the cart girls go home at 5pm and that we were out of luck. Terrible communication that resulted in everyone in our group being without water in 90º heat for a little over two hours. By the time we reached the most stimulating holes of the course, we were too dehydrated and worn out to enjoy any of it.
I'll end by saying that I'm usually very understanding when it comes to courses having shortcomings. However, if you're going to present a multi-million dollar clubhouse to your customers, it is imperative that the experience, greens keeping, and maintenance matches that outward appearance. This course was, in everyone's opinion, not worth the drive and there are far better links layouts around Boulder. Save your money and go elsewhere - we will never be back.
Good Course
Fairways and tee boxes were in great condition! Greens, on the other hand, were pretty dry and looked like they had some kind of disease. Overall, very challenging course! Greens were very hilly, which added to the fun!
Todd Creek
Only 30 minutes from my house, I can't believe I haven't played this great course before. Highly recommend it.
Fun and Challenging
Todd Creek was a super pleasant experience. The range has balls included, there is GPS in the carts, and the greens rolled very true. I'll be excited to play it again now that I know how the course is layed out. We had a many drives that rolled into pretty tough fairway bunkers or when we did hit fairways maybe we weren't in an ideal position to attack the greens. It's a tough but fair course. 100% recommended.
Good course
Course was in really good shape. Some tees were a little chewed up and the greens were a bit bumpy but overall in real good shape.
Good course fun to play!
The only complaint I have of the course is the lack of water coolers on the course. Seems there is only one on each 9. There should be at least 3 on each nine. Plus, when we got to the one on the back nine it was empty. Water please it is summer.
Hidden Jewel
Todd Creek is in great shape and is one of the most challenging hidden jewels in the Denver area. The fairways are inviting but make sure you are in them because the rough is brutal and don't even go into the native grass. The greens are fast and true so watch your speed. I don't think Denver as a whole has even discovered Todd Creek. Well worth the money.
Slow play
Pace of play was 5.5 hours. Told ranger 3 times but never improved.
A challenge
We played at 2pm. The day was very windy and hot. First time I played here, Course is challenging with need for accuracy on shots. Greens were fast and hard to see some of the breaks. I would play again!
Golf happy
Very nice course will play again
Greens and bunkers very poor condition
Todd Creek has a very nice practice facility. There are no marshals on the course. Had a fivesome playing in front of our group. The bunkers have had NO maintenance in months, the have been soaked and dried until they are the consistency of concrete. I broke through the crust with the heel of my shoe, it was 4 inches thick. The club just bounces off. The greens are in poor condition, the staff haven't fixed pitch marks in weeks. The greens are showing footprints around the hole. If you can get a hot deal to play, it's ok. But I wouldn't pay anywhere close to full price to play this course.
Great course
Great course. As long and challenging as you want it to be.
Great Muni
First time playing the course. I play early morning (6:20 first tee) so keep that in mind.
Pace: not too bad. I caught up to a threesome (in carts) that wouldn't let me through. But that allowed me to play a few different balls per hole. If that is how it is like during a busier time, it would be maddening.
Conditions: Fantastic. Noticed a few patches where drainage was an issue, but not too bad. I wonder if some of the discolorations to the fairways is from different grass varieties because irrigation seemed excellent otherwise.
Greens were the highlight. Rolled true and were in great shape. Multi-tiered. Could have some great hole locations.
Layout: Challenging. Some blind tee shots. Great risk/reward holes. Good course for a low handicapper. Not overly difficult so great for all skills. They didn't have the championship tees open for whatever reason. Don't know if that is the norm.
The houses are not that close like some other courses in the Denver area. But you could definitely hit them if you are way off.
Price: Great value. I live in Denver and compared to the munis here, I favor this one after my first round. Worth it for a few extra dollars to provide an interesting layout. Comparable quality to Lakewood munis, but cheaper; better than Foothills courses.
Amenities: didn't use any but they looked decent.
Overall: Fun, well maintained muni away from the crowds of Denver that will provide a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Worth a try for sure.
Like A Private Club - In A Good Way
Course is more difficult than it looks, but is in very good condition. Includes private club amenities such as ice chest, ball/club cleaner, and GPS on the Club Car golf cars. GPS is tiny so you might want to bring your own GPS or laser for more detail on each hole. Lots of bunkers; not much water. No trees or shade. Very buggy on some fairways. Cart path throughout, which is good because of distance between holes. Golf cars not allowed in the parking lot.
Challenging course
Great folks, very challanging course. However the water tanks on the course were sparse. Their really should've been at least one more water station on each nine.
Great course but...
The course was in great condition except for the sand traps. They were rock hard or muddy with just a thin layer of sand on top. They need to clean them out and add some more clean sand
I ABSOLUTELY agree with every word. I would like to add that if you are not a local resident you will be treated very poorly.
I play 2-3 times a week and I will never play at Todd Creek again. This is the biggest waste of money in this area, with Colorado National a close second.
