My favorite hole ! Photo submitted by Golfworld on 10/28/2019
Winter golf
Very enjoyable course, interesting layout with some easy and some difficult holes.
Cold and windy due to winter conditions make it more difficult. Greens a bit bumpy, winter conditions again.
Early Christmas gift
Friendly staff. Good weather. For this time of year Excellent condition.
Some people refuse to fix ball marks. But regardless it was worth the trip.
No info and empty promises
There was an alert on GN for aerification, which was fine. We have played many courses, you just know ahead of time to not be judgemental about greens or course conditions. This was a little different.
There had been some rain the day before which apparently interfered with their schedule/plans to aerate on 10/13. So with a full tee sheet they decided to change to next day, and close half of the course. Double the back 9 as our 18 holes was not disclosed on GN.
Now this was a logistical nightmare, course books about a week in advance, and they could have easily moved it out a week to make sure they booked less round for only having 9 holes open.
So now you have people who teed off at 8am coming around their back 9 at noon, and you have tee times scheduled for noon...so now every booked time is actually a double time 8am/12pm 8:08/12:08 /8:16/12:16 and so on..every afternoon time front 9 had an accompanying back 9 from the morning. So needless to say the course was super backed up.
They didn't tell us any of this.
Instead they called us off the range about 10 minutes ahead of our tee time, got us loaded up and sent to the first tee....only to find that there were 3 groups still ahead of us to tee off. So we sat at the first tee for almost an hour waiting. First hole on back is a par 3...so now you can't even tee off once the group is down the fairway and hits their 2nd shot...you sit and wait on the tee box for them to finish the entire hole....and we all know sometimes ppl have a 6 on a par 3...or worse...so now imagine sitting on a tee box waiting for 3 groups ahead of you to finish a par 3.
Surprise, super slow the whole front 9....come around for our back 9, still slow...Our tee time was around 1pm, which gave us 5 and a half hours till sundown. It took us those 5.5 hours to make it to hole 14, then we had to get the carts in..
Called and spoke to the GM which is how i got info about the schedule.
Told him out right it kinda sucks to not put up any information about only having 9 holes open, having people pay for 18, and play only 14 in 5.5 hours....
He basically kept trying to blame it on the weather....told him "but you knew you had a full tee sheet, and only half a course"
No answer
Finally told me to get in contact with him, and he would do something to take care of me and my group. I have since reached out multiple times in more than one media, with no response. Even on my birthday. Gave him over 30 days between my first attempt to reach out, and my review. Looks like we will be skipping mill pond from now on if we want to complete a round.
Course in excellent condition
Couldn't get a better late Fall day to play a round with my friend and my son. Picked up a fourth, very nice gentlemen who was an excellent player and knew the course. Made for a very enjoyable round of golf. Course in excellent condition. Pace of play a little slow but all in all couldn't have asked for a better day to play.
Early November round, A great day out on the course!
Weather was great, the course was in very good shape. The staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Nice course-miserable pace of play
Very windy but that's the weather. Course in good shape.
Pace of play was terrible. Ranger contacted and did nothing.
Rain was a blessing
We thought the course might be closed due to weather but called and found there were no restrictions. There were two foursomes ahead of us and we caught them on the 3rd hole and both foursomes let us through. After that we had the course was all to ourselves and although the rain never stopped it never got heavy and conditions were good despite the rain. Gps on the carts was very convenient and the greens were in great shape albeit a little slow as a result of an all night and day rain.Attacking the pins was the call for the day and we both carded sub 80 rounds for the day where we normally would be low 80's.
