Overall
Nothing wrong about the course layout. However they are in serious need of a good groundskeeper and crew. Greens haven’t been cut or even rolled. I was there about 10 years ago and it wasn’t good then.
Good for a low stress vacation trip
The greens were a bit rough at times, but not rolled better than they looked from up close. The layout is intriguing, especially for a shorter course.
Great place to play.
My wife loves this course, it is perfect for working on your game. I enjoy the layout while she is happy that the course is never crowded ( she is still learning). The staff are all friendly, attentive and helpful. The setup and conditions are just enough to keep the experience fun for seasoned golfers and challenging for beginners. The club house is full service for food and drink and the pro shop is nicely stocked.
The owner was very nice to us, however, the greens were absolutely destroyed so it was impossible to read putts.
Very nice course
This is a quiet course that gets a little tight sometimes. A great place for beginners to work on their game. The course was in good shape but the greens are a little rough. The bunkers are about normal for this area in rainy season. There is plenty of water in play but the fairways are well drained. The layout is nice and pace of play is great, never seem to see a crowd here. The club house and pro shop have a great staff and the full service bar and restaurant make for a great outing. Everyone is super friendly and afternoon tee times can't be beat for value. A definite regular stop for us.
Nice and quiet.
I have played Island Pines in the past and its a pretty cool course. It was nice today because I was the only golfer on the course for the first 9 holes. I shoot better when I’m not rushed. Anyway it was very nice today. I will definitely go again soon. Peace.
Fun at Islan Pines
The greens are well kept. The tee boxs are mostly kept up. The club house needs updated. It gives me a caddy shack feel of the 80s, which I am partial to anyway. The couse was not crowded when I was there and there was little to no pressure in my game. Thats a plus for me. I will be back for sure. The rates were fare and we had a great time.
