Aston Oaks Golf Club
About
Aston Oaks Golf Club is perched atop rolling hills that overlook the Ohio River Valley. The Jack Nicklaus Design Group created the course, which sits on the former land of President William Henry Harrison. Although his presidency was short lived, traces of his legacy in Ohio can be seen throughout the golf course. Each hole was carefully carved from stands of mature white oak, hickory, and other native hardwoods. The course is tight and demanding with fast greens and plenty of elevation changes. The abundance of trees really characterizes the course. Between the 10th tee and the 11th green, there is a giant Buckeye tree that is the largest in the state. With all of the trees lining the fairways there was hardly a need to add bunkers, but there are some incorporated along the greensides that help to define some holes.

Better than advertised
Great experience at Aston Oaks! Fairways and greens are in excellent condition. Rough is brutal, as can be expected. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Ron
Great course , layout , best conditions fairways , tee boxes , greens all stellar .
Course in great shape
I got out early and the course was in awesome shape.
Excellent Course
Well maintained. Pace of play slow as it was a holiday weekend. Very enjoyable.
Perfect day
Super friendly staff. Great pace of play.
Grass is in great condition for being early in the year. I'm not a great golfer, but shot 104 which is better than what I shoot on easier courses.
Good layout but in bad shape
Aston Oaks has a lot of potential -- the layout is interesting and challenging., Right now, the course is in pretty poor shape. Several fairways are dead, a couple tee boxes are unusable, and holes 16-18 have some pretty severe construction going on. Be prepared in case you plan to play sometime this spring.
If you like houses along most of the holes . . .
Pace of play was poor. I am not a golfer that likes subdivision courses and this course has a lot of houses along most of the holes.
Course has hilly terrain and several very scenic holes, but I didn’t feel this outweighed negatives.
Pace of Play is a killer
Went there a few months back during the week and after 3hrs i was done with 8 holes so I left figuring it's just that day. Went back last week to play in a foursome and it took 6.5hrs to play 18. Pace of play was absolutely terrible. Not sure if they are overbooking but I will not be going back there anytime soon. I can only imagine the pace of play is on weekends or holiday.
fun course to play
Overall a great course, had some condition issues mostly just due to time of year I'm guessing.
