Aston Oaks Golf Club
About
Aston Oaks Golf Club is perched atop rolling hills that overlook the Ohio River Valley. The Jack Nicklaus Design Group created the course, which sits on the former land of President William Henry Harrison. Although his presidency was short lived, traces of his legacy in Ohio can be seen throughout the golf course. Each hole was carefully carved from stands of mature white oak, hickory, and other native hardwoods. The course is tight and demanding with fast greens and plenty of elevation changes. The abundance of trees really characterizes the course. Between the 10th tee and the 11th green, there is a giant Buckeye tree that is the largest in the state. With all of the trees lining the fairways there was hardly a need to add bunkers, but there are some incorporated along the greensides that help to define some holes.

Beautiful Course and Friendly Environment
We booked our time that happened to be about an hour after a golf outing's final group teed off. Tom from the clubhouse approached us when he noticed we were about to catch up to the outing and allowed us to go back and play the first few holes again so we didn't have to sit behind the groups ahead. A little thing, yes, but many other courses and clubhouse guys wouldn't have cared either way. I appreciate what he did and on top of that the course is beautiful and challenging! Will definitely be going back soon.
Worth PlayingOcasionally
Challenging layout. 'Target golf'- i.e. if you don't hit the ball exactly where you need to, count on losing at least one stroke. Not very forgiving. GPS on carts is a great feature. Greens not in great shape due to so many unprepared ball marks. Same for divots in fairways. This course has great potential if better maintained. A good value for $25, but not worth more than that.
Great features and a overall fun course
Nice staff, even though it was wet the course played well. Carts had built in club covers and the gps was a really nice feature.
like the GPS ! Helps pace of play
I really like this course, good layout and fun to play.
Beautiful views of Ohio river, great green/fairways
This is an excellent course. It has a few bare spots in the rough, but otherwise in excellent condition. The holes are very fair if you hit your shots, if not you will be penalized from the various hazards.
Their are a variety of tee boxes for many different lengths of hitters, however would not recommend for beginner players, too many opportunities to lose your ball.
It is not walkable.
Aston Oaks
A bad day golfing beats a good day working. I'll play here for $15 anytime.
Great challenge, I will visit again, even though it takes me an hour to get to west side.
Well maintained golf course that played extremely long the day I was there. (It had rained significantly the night before.) The elevation changes presented additional challenge and thought on several shot.
Tough track
A great course, very challenging to your average golfer...it was my first time out there and it will not be my last.
One of the best layouts in town!
This is a fun track from the tips. Aston Oaks has some of the best par 4's around. #3, long downhill par 4 sweeping to the right with a cross bunker in the fairway about 270 off the tee. Then a mid to long iron into the green. Nice. #7, elevated tee shot to a rolling fairway with an uphill mid to short iron into a devilish green. Fantastic. #9, short hole here but, you need a good tee shot well placed to avoid all the fairway bunkers. If you miss the bunkers attack the pin for a good birdie. #14, 470 yards from the tips, avoid the two fairway bunkers for a long iron into a narrow green, that is carved into the hillside, protected by trees on both sides. Par is a great score here. Oh yea, don't forget #4, one of the prettiest par 3's anywhere. All in all the course was in good shape, fairways were nice, the greens could have been faster. They need to work on there pace of play. Five hrs. for a Wednesday morning was a bit long.
Great course with challenging holes
Terrific price at $25. GPS on the cart takes the guesswork out of course layout. Identifies hidden carts in front of you and provides an accurate distance to the hole. Allows for appropriate shot and club selection. Cart path needs to be resurfaced in some areas but only negative comment.
Nice course
Nice course. Play was a little slow but overall had a good time.
Great course
Top five course in the Cincinnati area. This is a must play with some excellent views on the course.
Pace of play has improved
Pace of play was problem here in the past - they were monitoring it well and keeping play moving. Much better than in the past. Course is in good condition.
Beautiful layout.
This is an outstanding course. The layout is very beautiful and the greens are in outstanding shape. The fairways are solid. The only complaint I have is there is no intermediate rough. It goes ferom fairway to US Open rough. I like a chellenging course and this is truly one of them. But a few yards of intermediate will bring so many more people to this wonderful course!
The staff was wonderful and very cordial. The abiity to order food on the 9th and 18th tee from the cart and have it ready at the clubhouse is a really nice touch. Just wish they had some burgers on the menu.
course was very green
Great course. Staff was great. Will be back to play there again. Keep up the good work
Fantastic
I loved playing this course. The course is well maintained. The holes are challenging, but not punishing. The pace of play was quick also. Great course.
One of the westsides best!
The course is in great condition. The staff kept us up to the minute with the frost delay. Greens keeper was wicked with some of the pin placements.
Best Looking Course In Cincy
This was the 4th time I've played this course, keeps getting better and better. Great par 3's and the back 9 is one of the best I've ever played. I will continue to golf here through out the season. Friendly staff and great rates.
Good time.
A challenging course. The wind, hills, slopes, water, uneven greens. trees, forest, and houses to boot.
Good Course
Aston Oaks is a good course that could be a great course. The front nine has a couple nice holes and a few weird holes. The back nine is great, except for 17 and 18. The price is reasonable, and the staff is friendly.Nice layout on the westside of Cincinnati. I played it in late February, so it wasn't in Summer shape, but still a good track.
