About
Aston Oaks Golf Club is perched atop rolling hills that overlook the Ohio River Valley. The Jack Nicklaus Design Group created the course, which sits on the former land of President William Henry Harrison. Although his presidency was short lived, traces of his legacy in Ohio can be seen throughout the golf course. Each hole was carefully carved from stands of mature white oak, hickory, and other native hardwoods. The course is tight and demanding with fast greens and plenty of elevation changes. The abundance of trees really characterizes the course. Between the 10th tee and the 11th green, there is a giant Buckeye tree that is the largest in the state. With all of the trees lining the fairways there was hardly a need to add bunkers, but there are some incorporated along the greensides that help to define some holes.

Golfer Reviews
Great food and bar.
Course is in great condition, nice fairways and greens.
Fun Layout
Course is in pretty good condition. great layout. It is challenging but not to difficult. I play it a couple times a year and always enjoy playing here. Its on the more expensive side but worth the money and you can usually find great deals through golfnow.com
Good challenging course
This course is not easy but not difficult. It's a good challenging course for me. I recommend a gold tee for layers whose hadycap is around 20.
Challenging with good looking holes
You won't get around the place quickly because it's difficult and you have a few drives from hole to hole that are a half mile. With that said, it's a nice course and worth the drive.
Very challenging and the holes were nicely laid out. Course was in EXCELLENT condition.
I would definately recommend this course to any golfer.
15 mins behind?
I played 2 other local courses recently for less money that were in better shape. Mud on some of the greens, but for the most part was course was in "ok" shape. On the 12th hole, our GPS told us we were 15 mins behind and playing too slow. My fault b/c i am just learning started shooting 120's in June now in high 90's lows 100 for 18 holes, golfs a tough sport. I played with 3 guys one scratch golfer, 2 others that avg. mid 80's. One of the Starters rolls up in the middle of my friends back swing and demanded us to speed up play or he would make us skip a hole. He also said the group behind us called the club house twice to complain, good for them. He got in our heads a little bit, all playing farely well up until that point. I play golf to have fun, relax, get away from everyday stresses like my commisioned sales job, and sometimes my wife. Half the time we could not tee off b/c of the group in front and we finished the course at 12:00 noon, started around 7:30 am. Glad i golfed this course 3 times this year, wont happen again. If you want to relax while playing golf dont go to Aston Oaks, or play speed golf. Plently of other great courses to spend my money on. One of the guys in the staff, drill sargeant Rick, is the opposite of "super friendly." Learn how to treat and talk to paying customers.
Excellent Course with Great Layout nestled in a nice community
This was a great challenging course that sat in the middle of a beautiful community. Beautiful setting and the integrated GPS system on the carts made it a great experience. Well worth the money, even if it was all you can play after 5pm....
Fairways and Greens in good shape, but water in most bunkers
Overall, challenging course with some neat holes close to Ohio River. The fairways and greens were in good shape, but most bunkers had 2-3 inches of standing water in them. There was some rain in the last 48 hrs, but would have expected the bunkers to have drained. We got a good rate at golf now, but wouldn't pay >$25-30 to play here.
the course has great features.
new gps system on carts was great. course was in great shape.
very enjoable, water, ohio river, hills, valleys, sandtraps, trees, great layout, will return soon.
Nice course w/ cart GPS
Course was in good condition and has challenging holes.
Pace of play was slow on back nine due to an outing that shotgun started about 45 min ahead of us.
challenging golf holes and great views
the course was in very good condition with "slick" greens. Several of the pin placements bordered on being unfair. The surrounding properties made the round of golf even more enjoyable.
course staff is working hard
course maintenance staff were everywhere, mowing, watering, and spraying . . . almost to the point of interfering with play. On three holes staff had to turn off fairway sprinklers so we could play the hole. Lots of mowing but it must have been quite awhile since last mowing as the grass clippings left behind, both in the fairways and on the greens, were an annoyance. You had to clean up the area surrounding your balls or clear a path thru the clipping left behind on the greens in order to putt. Glad to see they were working hard on the course, but could have been done at a less busy time of day. Overall, course was in OK shape.
Well-manicured course; takes advantage of natural resources. Picturesque views of the Ohio River.
As stated before, This course was cut from the hills of the Ohio River, and the designer took advantage of the natural resources at hand. Tight fairways make the shorter holes a lot more challenging. Good course.
Beautiful Course and Friendly Environment
We booked our time that happened to be about an hour after a golf outing's final group teed off. Tom from the clubhouse approached us when he noticed we were about to catch up to the outing and allowed us to go back and play the first few holes again so we didn't have to sit behind the groups ahead. A little thing, yes, but many other courses and clubhouse guys wouldn't have cared either way. I appreciate what he did and on top of that the course is beautiful and challenging! Will definitely be going back soon.
Worth PlayingOcasionally
Challenging layout. 'Target golf'- i.e. if you don't hit the ball exactly where you need to, count on losing at least one stroke. Not very forgiving. GPS on carts is a great feature. Greens not in great shape due to so many unprepared ball marks. Same for divots in fairways. This course has great potential if better maintained. A good value for $25, but not worth more than that.
Great features and a overall fun course
Nice staff, even though it was wet the course played well. Carts had built in club covers and the gps was a really nice feature.
like the GPS ! Helps pace of play
I really like this course, good layout and fun to play.
Beautiful views of Ohio river, great green/fairways
This is an excellent course. It has a few bare spots in the rough, but otherwise in excellent condition. The holes are very fair if you hit your shots, if not you will be penalized from the various hazards.
Their are a variety of tee boxes for many different lengths of hitters, however would not recommend for beginner players, too many opportunities to lose your ball.
It is not walkable.
Great challenge, I will visit again, even though it takes me an hour to get to west side.
Well maintained golf course that played extremely long the day I was there. (It had rained significantly the night before.) The elevation changes presented additional challenge and thought on several shot.
