Golfer Reviews
Course in Great Condition
The course is in excellent condition. The greens are very good. They look like carpeting although they are slower than they appear. They are also soft so they tend to accept a well hit ball. Fairways are also in very nice condition. The rough is brutal in most areas. Difficult to control the ball out of the rough. This is the best I have seen Sonoma in some time although I don't play here regularly because it is not a walking course. I had a very nice day and will return again very soon.
Sonoma
Sonoma Ranch golf course is a very good course to play both good players and average players , even new players will enjoy it.
Sonoma Ranch Golf course
Our foursome found the price for the round of golf reasonable. We enjoyed the round of golf and we had a great time together.
Good Course
Great shape except for sand traps but all courses in this area use desert sand with small rocks. Grass is nice and green. The greens are in best condition in 3 years. I like this course a lot. Need to lower prices during slow traffic times to get best use of golf course. Hot Deals on Golf Now would solve this!
Spongy in the AM
Perfect really, greens were understandably spongy in the morning but their pace was still up. I prefer the afternoon at Sonoma when the sun has firmed up the course. Just my opinion... it's the best course in Cruces, I love it out there.
summer golf
just one problem- my cart died after 9 holes- but I did not have a long walk to obtain another- in fact, barely worth mentioning
Great course tonplay
This is a great golf course, the pace is excellent, the course was is great shape. The staff is friendly and personable, the scenery is beautiful with the mountains in the background. Love to play this course every time I am in Las Cruces.
Bunkers
I like this course, it is maintained well and has fun and different styles holes. I would make the suggestion that the sand bunkers need work. as they were mostly hard and lots of gravel.
Advanced mediocrity
The attached grill for food service is more of a bar/restaurant and not a place for golfers in mid round. Driving range is plastic mats that are worn down severely. The course does not seem to have any flow to it; very chopped up. Very physically demanding course for senior citizens.
Pace of play very slow!!
Greens
Greens are getting better sense sanded and rain putting good but a couple weeks needed for grass to grow. Soon as mowing and rolling they should be real good. Spend time when I play fixing divots because people don’t fix there’s, to lazy so what’s the solution for that- Marshals need to work a little instead of hiding out and just driving around doing nothing.

Green were plugged about two weeks ago still a little bumpy. Over all course in very good condition. First time on course the starter Jerry very friendly and gave such good info about course had no problem getting around and good time. Looking forward to going back
Sonoma ranch gc
Course conditions were great for this time of year. Staff was very professional and friendly. Access to carts and course very good. Played in less than four hours during prime time.
Sonoma Ranch GC
First time playing here and I was pleasantly surprised with the layout and variety of holes on offer.
Attentive staff in the pro shop made the check in smooth and then had me paired me up with three of their members.
Sonoma Ranch GC is nice track that is in fair condition for the off season. Five large tee boxes on every hole allow you to pick your poison (choose accordingly), there are numerous elevation changes and for those that are overly confident in their abilities Sonoma Ranch has several good risk/reward holes. The routing makes good use of the topography and the bunkers seem to be in all the right places. Of the two water hazards on the course (holes 8 & 18), well you'd really have to be having a bad day to find them. The surprisingly quick greens rolled well and if you aren't paying attention to the numerous breaks you'd be pencilling in some big scores.
This is a solid track and good ball striking is rewarded. Go out and have fun.

Great value through GolfNow hot deals. Course in typical winter condition, some greens patchy and fairways recently aerated bt overall a good experience. Played as a single but had no waiting with usually an open hole in front and behind making for a quick 3 hour round.
