About
Bonham’s newest golf course has the natives all excited about their new Bill Johnston design, created to serve as the centerpiece of a unique residential community. With the benefit of several unique landscapes at his disposal, Johnston built a front nine that starts high and weaves through lakes and waterfalls, smoothly transitioning into a parkland-style route highlighted by pecans and oaks.
The par 5 No. 9 stands out on the front, taking you back up the ridge with an approach shot into an almost cliffside green nestled against the lake.
The wetlands of Bois d’ Arc Creek line the back nine fairways, keeping water in play most of the nine. Johnston made this one fun with multiple approach shots over water, including one par 3 that plays into an island green.
Do what you can to work your way onto this course, because it’s rare to experience such a quality course in such an enjoyable, rural setting.
Getting there : From McKinney, take US 75 north to the Bonham 121 exit. Hwy. 121 merges into Hwy. 56 south of Bonham. Turn right on Hwy. 82 E.

Golfer Reviews
Good course
This course is in pretty decent shape and is the best in this area for quality and price. I would play here.
Aeration this week
Good course but the front nine was aerified and the back none was done Tuesday, 03/24. I would say this course is two weeks away from playing OK again.
Great golf experience
The staff was kind and courteous. They all appeared to be engaged and really concerned with providing a quality experience. Keep up the good work.
Worst course for your money in north Texas
Spent $106.00 for my wife and I to play today.
For this cost we received the following.
Tee Boxes so hard my couldn’t get a tee in the ground same for the men’s tee box.
Fairways void of grass just brown stuff that raised a dust cloud when you hit your ball.
Worst of all the green’s:
At least 3 of the were without much grass.
Every green Hadi I don’t know what to call it best way to describe it clumps of bumps. No way to putt.
This used to be my favorite golf course in North Texas.
This course as is today should cost $25.00 at most.
Do Not Waste Your Money playing here.
Fun course
First time playing the course. Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Fairways were in good shape and very playable. The greens are another story. Most greens were overtaken be weeds, crabgrass, or poa Anya. And most greens were 20 dirt. They need help. That all said it was a fun course, and a great value. Will be back for sure.
