Treasure Hills Golf Club
About
Treasure Hills GC is one of the better layouts in the Rio Grande Valley. Built on rolling terrain, the wide fairways present nice targets off the tee, and the elevated greens require taking an extra club every now and then. While not an overbearing factor, water hazards come into play throughout the design.
Getting there : From Hwy 77 driving south, exit on Ed Carey and turn left. When you come to Business 77 turn right, drive down to Trailer Hills Blvd. and turn left. Veer right at the split in the road and turn left on Pinehurst, where you'll see signs to the course.

Treasure Hills golf club
Greens are in great shape, but fairways are kind of rough
Unplayable Pace
One of the worst golf experiences I’ve had. The cheap price makes sense now. They were letting groups of 5–6 players go out, which completely ruined the pace of play. Every hole took forever.
By hole 10, the backup was so bad there was no chance of finishing the round, so I just left. This course is not being managed properly and ignores basic golfing rules. Definitely would not come back.
Cart charge
We found it interesting that the first time we golfed we were charged $10 and this last time we were charged $30. The explanation that was given was it depends who’s working the register.
Best greens right now 3.31.26
Happy I chose this over south padre island. Lots of work being done to ensure upkeep. Some greens were being punched around the outer boundaries but it didn’t interfere for me
Kurt
Greens are in good shape, fairways are tee boxes in fairly good shape, except for areas with no grass (dirt), which is mainly due to no rain for the last 3+ months.
Worth the trip
My husband and I usually play the courses in and around the McAllen area, but decided to make the journey to Harlingen. It was well worth it. While the cost may be a little more than the McAllen area, Treasure Hills is a well maintained course with much better fairways and greens. The carts are in good condition and the pace was good, even though it was a packed Sunday. I would definitely recommend this course above many courses in our usual area.
Course needs water
A lot of tight lies, burnt grass, dirt. The greens were OK.
Treasure Hills
Course is in good shape. A lot of different tees, so is challenging for all levels. The course has dried up a lot since last time I played due to lack of rain. Overall, a good course for the price.
In town easy to get too
Been playing this course for years and within the last year it has been improving the course every which way from cart paths, fairways and of course the greens and they are always working on the course but Not in the way while playing . Also put in a covered driving range with bathrooms and NO I am not talking about an outhouse either a real bathroom. The staff is first class and the last is brand New carts to use very comfortable ride . The cost is very reasonable to play so it is easy on the wallet. If you give it a chance and play this course with your friends you will KNOW you found a hidden gem and you will be back . Because I know I will!!!!
