About
Set along the Rio Grande River, this is a scenic course with spectacular views. The front nine was built in 1987, and the back nine followed in 1992. The highlight of the course is what is perhaps the longest water hazard in Texas, the Rio Grande River, which flows along holes 5 through 13 on the left side of the fairway.
Narrow fairways and grass bunkers make the course tough, especially when the wind is howling, as it is tough to hit the small, firm greens. Water is everywhere. No. 14 is the only hole without water. The par 3 17th hole, with its island greens, headlines a series of demanding par 3 holes. The last hole plays 434 yards into the wind and has out-of-bounds on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Harlingen take Hwy. 77 south. When you come to Hwy. 802 turn right, then continue until you reach Hwy 281. Turn right again and drive approximately 2.5 miles to the course

rough greens
greens were very bad ball bounced all over the place because of the weeds
Great staff and good course layout
Had fun playing. More water than most courses in the area. Fairway conditions average; greens below average due to clumps of grass making the greens uneven.
Needs better maintenance crew
This is my third year visiting the area from Colorado. This is the worse condition I’ve seen the course. Tee boxes and greens need to be completely reworked. Tee boxes are hard and very little grass. The greens are infected with clumps of poana grass which makes putting like a pinball game. Maybe next year they will improve the course.
Terrible
The course was in terrible condition.not much grass and many bare dirt areas. The cart I had was ready to fall apart,

You usually have no idea how far you are from the green after your tee shot.
