Another great Day
First hole was open again. Really like this approach. Definitely getting better with this type of course. I use more clubs than usual. Thanks....
Beautiful course in great condition.
Gorgeous course, with photographic vistas. It is apparent that the owners and managers care about it, with ongoing improvements. A little rain will help to fill in some of the bare sports on the fringes of the fairways.
The greens were firm, moderately fast and very true-- no hopping or swerving.
The course has elevation changes, varying distances and a variety of challenging holes.
Eventually, a real pro shop will be a plus. New golfers should know that there is no range for warmup and no practice green.
My one critique is that there should be more drinking water jugs along the course. ONE jug on the #10 hole is not enough, especially during summer months.
We're making plans to return very soon.
Fantastic
Course is beautiful and very happy with today's play
Overrated Course
If you want to play on the most rock-solid greens and fairways, play here. I can appreciate informal golf courses but this place takes it a little too far. The proshop is a tiny room in a sheet metal shop building, there is no parking lot only a gravel area, they also do not manage tee times well. 52 dollars with no twilight is too high for a weekday. Bunkers have been unplayable for well over a year at this point and they've resided to marking them all as GUR instead of just making them better. Not to mention the drive to the course is annoying with speed bumps windy roads and there is a locked gate that you have to call the shop to get the code for.
Was a great round of golf
Booked a round as a single and got to play as a single which was nice. Pace of play was great as well. Greens were really sandy, but still rolled very nicely!
Looking pretty good
The course was in the best condition I have seen it in several years. Good fairways and tee boxes. Greens were medium to quick. New signage to help you travel to the next tee. Overall, very good experience.
The greens were in phenomenal condition!! The sand traps need a lot of work. Most of them were washed out due to recent storms. A few fairways had some rough spots. Overall the course is really nice.
Info
It would have been nice if I was told that there is no water stations anywhere on the course.
They asked me if it was my first time and I said yes that would’ve been a good time to let me know if something like that.
Physically, it was extremely demanding without water are very little water and you do not have a chance to grab any at the office area because you don’t go there till the end.
Course was great. Loved it. The guys were nice, but that can get very dangerous not having any water on the course and not letting newbies know that.
First time at Grand Lakes
Really enjoyed the layout and the condition of the course in terms of value for money. We (my son and I) will be back for sure.
