good course
A really stunning course, fabulous views, good greens and good tee boxes. Lots of elevation changes, and the signature par 6 15th is a special hole, once you get to the green there is no let off, multi tiers and no flat putts!! It has a slightly odd card, in that there are 6 par 3's. It's a good slog, plenty of uphill and down dale, so I would advise to prebook buggies.
The pace of play however was not great, we were behind 3 x 4 balls and sadly the last 4 ball was very slow, made worse by playing off the whites which the higher handicappers could not handle, they did however call us through on 9... and the pace improved. HOWEVER this where the course drops to only 4 star (in the 1st part), there really should be a starter and course marshall, the starter can and should check handicap and advise suitable tee boxes, and then a marshall can keep play moving.
We ate after golf in the bar, the food reviews were pretty good and as we we setting out back home, we were looking forwards to a decent meal. (so the second part of losing a star), there was only a snack menu available, which in all honesty was pretty poor food.
I would however not any second thoughts at having another round here.
Changed my mind.
Very enjoyable. Did not like this course the first time. Changes and improvements over the year have made a big difference, including the dramatic last hole. Tee shots on par 4s are not always a driver, a sign of a good course. Not long but big elevation changes. Par threes vary in length and are tricky. They could work on speed(slow) and consistency of greens.
Nearly 5 star.
