Second hole, par-3, 182 (blues). A challenging tee shot, yet the hole becomes tougher when you land a good distance from the pin. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023
-
Fourth: The number 3 index, this par-4 or 424 will test your skills from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The par-3 ninth plays 197 yards from the blues. Its green is positioned and shaped like a Redan hole, but without the right-to-left cant. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

Chuck, a good driver of the golf ball, prepares to tee off at the number 1 index hole at Oxford Greens, the par-4 twelfth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The twelfth is named “Double Plateau” for its green, which means that the putting surface actually has three elevations. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The fourteenth, a par-4 of 418 with water on the left, is named “Plead,” and you may well find yourself begging it for mercy before putting out. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

18th, par-4, 458: You’ll need to commit to your full swing (twice) to play a hole tagged with the name “Trust In.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

16th: The short par-3 of 170 lives up to its moniker: “Fortress.” It’s green complex is built like one. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

An earlier, summertime picture taken of the first hole, called “Road Out,” gives a glimpse of a green sided by a road (behind) and a pesky pot bunker. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

The sixth–a.k.a. the “Red Oaks”--is index 13, but will still present a few problems enroute to a drive-and-pitch par. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

“Timberlake” is hole seven, and the hole is all about avoiding the trees and playing some tricky angles from tee to green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

Eight: “Turtle” is a long par-five of 570 that can snap at you. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

Twelve: Course's toughest par four; this is its "Double-Plateau" green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 09/07/2020

A Great Find!
Wasn’t sure what to expect, but course conditions were very good, excellent greens and a great value for the money. Will definitely return next trip to the area.
Stay on the fairways
If you miss the fairways you will lose your ball. It would be nice to trim back some of the brush along the edges of some of the fairways which would speed play in my opinion.
My favorite course
Absolutely love this course! I play it as much as I can. This is my favorite course. Fantastic layout and a wonderful challenging course, especially from the black tees. One of the best public courses in CT. Wish golfers fixed ball marks on greens and raked the sand traps. If golfers keep this course in great shape, this will be without a doubt the gem of CT.
Not bad not great
Tee boxes were atrocious. The course layout is great and challenging. Fairways in decent shape and greens just ok. Great thing is we played 8am on Wednesday and no one in front or behind us which made it worthwhile but they have a lot of work to do.
Great course
Course was in great shape. Greens fast and true. Played in just under 4 hours and had a great time. Friendly staff made for an enjoyable day. Having just purchased Oronoque Country Club, I’m hoping Alliance Golf will bring this same experience there as well.
Good as ever
Great price! Sunday afternoon round right a 4h20min. Greens in great shape. Burger grill at 9th hole was fantastic!
Amazing track
Get out to the Golf Club and challenge your tee shots; long approaches from undulating and blind fairways/sloping and never unforgiving
Get challenged and get your GHIN updated!
Wake-up Call
This is one kick-tail beautiful course. The superintendent and Ground crew deserve a kick in the backside for letting it go. If you tend to one hole a day the course will be back in shape in about two weeks. First, fill the hundreds of divots in the fairways. When you move the tee markers each day fill the divots from the day before. Fix the tens of ball marks on every green. Make sure there are bottoms on the sand bottles. (Yup…not kidding!) and fill them more than halfway because it’s possible to exhaust your supply of sand on just one hole! (I went thru 4 and hardly made a dent…) Try putting drinking water out on the course. That’s downright dangerous not having it on a hot day. (Legal issue?) And one final kick for the local clientele who don’t fill their divots or repair their ball marks, leaving this gorgeous course in needlessly poor shape. What a great track…show some pride. Your property values depend on it!
Great course - friendly staff!
Had a great time on the course. Gorgeous layout with scenic drives between holes. And extremely friendly staff! A bit of waiting (especially at the 9th hole), but I'll chalk that up to Father's Day Weekend golfing.
New GM
New GM Is exactly what this course needed. He is friendly and goes out of his way for you. Now if we could get better pin locations and traps with sand the course would be worth the fees.
Gotta Draw?
The course is beautiful, scenery is amazing.
If you have a draw, be careful as everything seems to slope to the left. Tee shot placement is very important. There is a long par five that runs up a long hill, don't be left! We were teamed up with a couple of nice guys who had played there plenty of times. They played the "Blues" and struggled. Challenging layout and fast greens make for a great round!
Greens
Lots of debris on greens. Could have been blown off by maintenance.
Players need to fix pitch marks on the greens.
Good value.
Course is in good shape and is challenging. Wish carts had GPS
