Good value

First time playing the course. Course was in goodbye shape, challenging holes,. It was a mid week morning round and play moved along, played 18 in under 4 hours.

Amenities could not be rated due to pandemic closure.

Difficult course, lots of fun

This course is difficult but fun. Some holes are simply not laid out well for the average golfer. For example, hole 12 is laid out so it’s nearly impossible to keep the ball on the fairway. I mentioned that to a ranger, and his reply was “obviously this requires a cut shot”. Sorry, but 99% of amateurs cannot execute a cut shot on command. Plus, this place is built in a retirement community. So you have 70-80 year olds out there. The terrain is so difficult to walk even from cart to green and back that play is very slow. I live 3 miles from this course but will only play Here if I have 6 hours to kill.

Summer round

Course was crowded due to current issues but pace of play was good. This course designed to challenge and at times eat you up, especially hole #3!

Not course for a beginner to play during prime hours. Always nice to play but too much housing developed close to holes!

Worth checking out.

Very Nice Course

Very nice tree lined, hilly golf course, where course knowledge is a plus! . You are rewarded for good tee shots but you better read that putt again.

Friendly staff, nice clubhouse and challenging golf course!

Money Grab

They are triple-booking tee times and then blaming it on a “computer glitch” that they somehow have not been able to fix in over a month now. Also, they don’t bother to hire a starter because they don’t want to pay someone $100/day to keep the peace at the first tee. It’s a Wild West show with 30 people on the first tee box maneuvering over who is teeing off next. Course conditions are mediocre compared to the glory days. For the $78 price gouging now, you might as well stick to your local dog track. I gave the staff an average rating only because there was only two people working on a Friday. Both were superb but overall rating got dragged down by the fact there was only two working in what I can only assume is a cost-cutting move.

Top 5 Public Track in CT

This is a very challenging golf course. If you are a lefty, it’s perhaps the biggest challenge. You cannot miss left all day. This Track will make you focus on shot shaping. Don’t be fooled by the first hole...after that, the difficulty level ramps up!

Challenging Course Despite the Housing Development

I usually don't like golf courses designed to fit into a housing development but despite being squeezed into a Del Webb development Oxford Greens is a very challenging course. Almost all the holes roll right to left because the development is built on a ridge. Accuracy is the key here - big hitters will end the day in tears. I use my 3 and 5 wood here more than any other course. Get a course book (if they have them) if its your first time and use it because many traps and other hazards are hidden from sight.

Broken hearted

Used to play this course religiously. Hadn't played Oxford in a little over a year. Was excited to finally come back to play it again. It broke my heart. Evidently it has been sold to new owners. Fairways were hard with deep unfilled divots. Conditions were so disappointing compared.to past years. 14 dollars for range balls Mats only. This course layout has and always will have great potential. Hopefully they will bring this wonderful course back to the excellent condition it deserves.

Best course in the area

Absolutely love this course! It was the second time playing it this week. Course for the most part is in great condition. Tee boxes are a little banged up and the fairways are patchy in some areas. Greens are unbelievable and pin placements could make or break your round. Wish people fixed the ball marks on these spectacular, slick greens. Found myself repairing a bunch of them on every green. The layout is one of the best in the state. There are no adjacent holes and you never see anyone except the group in front of you and behind you. Wonderful setting for golf. The price to play a course is definitely reasonable. Setting up a tee time again for Monday. Just an absolute gem of a course. Without a doubt, my favorite course to play!!!

If only pace of play moves better

Fabulous course, conditioning, layout, greens and people.

Split tee tee times are not ideal. We started at 9:48am and we placed on 10 right in front of a group making the turn and right behind another. I’d be unhappy making the turn and having to wait for a group. Pace of play has historically been bad with some older members who still rake early tee times despite their bad / slow play.

Everything else is spectacular. I’ll keep coming but get early tee times to avoid the slow play. That won’t matter with split tee tee times on weekdays!

Very Disappointed

Played on 6/10/2020 with my son. Played here before was excited to play again. Pace of play was horrible. Had to wait on every hike. No starter or any rangers to be seen. People playing in gym shorts and tee shirts? Playing loud rap music. It’s obvious the ieee does not care about this place at all. Every tee box was burnt out to dirt. We quit after 15 holes. Will not play there again in the future. Was one of the best courses around for many years. I Do not recommend playing there.

Course has been in better condition

I have played Oxford Greens probably. 25 times since 2002. It’s a great track, challenging with some very scenic holes and difficult greens. Unfortunately, the course was in poor condition today, tees and fairways dry and chopped up. Hopefully, they improve the conditions as the summer goes on
