Second hole, par-3, 182 (blues). A challenging tee shot, yet the hole becomes tougher when you land a good distance from the pin. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

Fourth: The number 3 index, this par-4 or 424 will test your skills from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The par-3 ninth plays 197 yards from the blues. Its green is positioned and shaped like a Redan hole, but without the right-to-left cant. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

Chuck, a good driver of the golf ball, prepares to tee off at the number 1 index hole at Oxford Greens, the par-4 twelfth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The twelfth is named “Double Plateau” for its green, which means that the putting surface actually has three elevations. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

The fourteenth, a par-4 of 418 with water on the left, is named “Plead,” and you may well find yourself begging it for mercy before putting out. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/21/2023

18th, par-4, 458: You’ll need to commit to your full swing (twice) to play a hole tagged with the name “Trust In.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

16th: The short par-3 of 170 lives up to its moniker: “Fortress.” It’s green complex is built like one. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

An earlier, summertime picture taken of the first hole, called “Road Out,” gives a glimpse of a green sided by a road (behind) and a pesky pot bunker. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

The sixth–a.k.a. the “Red Oaks”--is index 13, but will still present a few problems enroute to a drive-and-pitch par. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

“Timberlake” is hole seven, and the hole is all about avoiding the trees and playing some tricky angles from tee to green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

Eight: “Turtle” is a long par-five of 570 that can snap at you. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/13/2021

Nice course; great facilities, friendly staff
I have enjoyed playing Oxford Greens on a number of occasions. The course is in nice condition even with the construction occurring around some of the holes.
Nice little course but needs some attention
The clubhouse and buildings are top notch but the course needs some TLC. Greens are OK; aprons are wreck and the fairways are just OK.
Some of the holes present a nice challenge.
Comment
The course was great. The only issue I have is that, because the course was running a Summer Special, I would have paid less had I simply booked directly with the course, instead of through GolfNow.
Slow play
Course very well maintained with challenging greens. Would be one of my favorite course in ct, but pace of play is incredible slow. We started 20 minutes after our tee time and round took 5 hours 30 minutes. Slowest round I have ever endured. Will not go back on weekends.
Challenging
The course was in great shape, as usual. Starter was helpful in getting the 2 of us off the back to avoid the 2 foursomes that just teed off the front.
Nice course, could use a bathroom at the turn
Nice course, challanging greens, friendly cart girls.
Only negative is you don't pass the clubhouse at the turn, and only bathroom facilities are port-a-potties. Not great for the women.
The course was well maintained
Great condition greens very fast unfair pin placement on some holes. you need to play smart golf or the course will get the best of you
Great course. Great Layout. Great price!!!
My moring at Oxford Greens was fantastic. Course in GREAT shape & greens ran true. I will definitely be back!!!
A good challenge
Tough greens, plenty of tees for all skill levels. Course was great, but the pace was horrible. No rangers. Driving range lacks amenities. A decent value for 70 bucks.
Good value for money
With all the rain we have had in CT the grass/course is in good shape and there is almost no bad spots anywhere. Oxford green is good value, I can't quite give it the course rating of "pristine" but it is better than "maintained". I play here quite often and am never disapointed
nice course
Was a little upset with course pro shop staff charging me $69.00 for a jr 12 yr old . All the years playing golf with my son paid more than half price for 18 holes pretty upset .
Solid course
Very challenging and one of best public course in CT. Was disappointed in the slower play and some of the fairways need minor work (ie, some scattered dead spots). To be a top course, i would expect closer to pristine conditions. That being said, i really like the course.
Very narrow fairways.
Have to drive the ball straight, narrow fairways, windy conditions, beautiful greens, long course. Perfect challenge for the low handicap player
Challenging course, with friendly staff
Good challenging layout. 15 super holes with 3 rather gimmicky holes making up the 18. Well worth a visit and very friendly staff. Starter on 1st tee was great fun and very chatty giving helpful tips for the course
Wait until the grounds crew gets the course into shape.
Nice course, but it hasn't awakened from it's winter nap. The bunkers were not in good condition, one was empty. The greens were slow and bumpy. I'd give a few more weeks for the grounds crew to get it into shape.
GREAT COURSE
Listed as one of the best public courses in Ct for good reason. Prstine condition with many memorable holes. Great elevation changes anc many shots that reqired a lot of thought. Greens rolled true but too fast for my skill level. Onl real negative was the amount of houses on the course and they were in the process of building more. The par 5 3rd is a bear to play as it is 630 yards uphill from the tips. Bring your a game to meet all of the challenges at Oxford. 18th was a cool 400 yard par 4 with a fairway split in half by a series of bunkers. The 6th is also fun as yo can almost drive this par 4 but their is a lot of danger in front. Great layout!
Great course good shape for this time of year
Course was great, staff wasn't. Got a good deal but it should be advertised that they pull you off the course at 4:30PM the course should display the price and that you play as many as you can til they pull you off. We were on 16 and could have finished but told we had to finish hole and go. Won't go back mainly because of staff and booking of tee times, there were 2 groups going off ahead of us at our tee time. I understand accomadating your members was ridiculously overbooked. I paid for 18 and could have finished and at the pro shop they basically said they didnt expect us to finish (then dont advertise 18 holes).
Awful
Course of play was awful!! Greens where inconsistent. Summer prices for fall play!! Leaves where all over course and greens.
Hard As Usual
This is typically one of the hardest places to play in CT. The course is always in great shape and the greens were as slick as expected. We were able to play in a shade over 4 hours which is always nice and the staff was very knowledgeable about the course and where the players should be located.
The only negatives we encountered was the lack of a beverage cart and the bugs from the new housing construction. The first is an issue because this course winds thru a community so there is no turn or place to get a snack or soda. The second issue is only on the front where they are building a new housing neighborhood.
