Great course, worth the money
The renovations here have made the course a nice place to come to. Practice facility is getting better daily, and looks like a huge new putting green being installed. Course played well, right at 4 hours on pace. Greens were in great shape and rolling very nice, fairways were green, rough was deep but playable/good challenge.
Nice course
Loved the way the mounds and sand framed the fairways and greens . The started was friendly and funny. Great place to play.
Great Course
The course was in great shape and the greens were great. Greens were very fast. Pace of play was good. The price of the round was a little expensive. $100 with range balls. Other than that it was a great experience!
Towhee Newbie
Overall a nice course but could use some upgrades such as more signage about the hole at the tees. The currently have a very big stone marker at each hole with the hole number but nothing else like hole diagram and yardage. No drinking water other then at 1 & 10 tees. This facility is also a bit overpriced in my opinion by about $20. Nice range.
Greens are slick!
Enjoyed the round. Too bad a local twosome held us up from hole #4 through #18. Had to wait on every shot and they would not let us play through. Unfortunate. No one behind us the entire day.
This is what gives golf a bad name. Poor awareness and etiquette.
Overpriced and overrated
We stopped here to play on our way south to a golf trip in Alabama primarily because it was an Arnold Palmer design and got good reviews. I'm sorry, but I don't understand the good reviews. We paid $90 green fees that we felt were about $30 too high for the quality of the course. The greens were good enough, but there were plenty of places around the rest of the course that were pretty rough. Sorry, but I can't recommend this course at the price we paid.
Overrated and over priced
This course was arguably better as kings creek because they didn’t charge 90$ for a round of golf. On top of paying $90 for a course that’s worth about 60 at most, you have to pay for range balls. The staff isn’t particularly friendly, and there’s no water fountains on the course, so you have to buy drinks from the cart girl you MIGHT see once a round. Overall not a good experience for the money.
Take care of your clients
Friends were in town to play and it was very hot when we played. There wasn’t any water coolers on the course, just the one on the outside of the clubhouse. As we made the turn, we were wanting to rehydrate with some Powerade only to find out the doors were locked. The staff had either left or were leaving at that time and we were informed that they let the cart girl leave early so they weren’t selling beverages inside! Excuse me??? You still had golfers on the course who payed a lot of money to play, but since we decided to play at 3:00, we weren’t deserving enough to experience all the amenities at Towee. Does it take a golfer passing out to get water on the course? Very disappointed with the management and staff. I won’t be coming back and will let everyone I know not to golf there.
Pretty good
First time out, pretty good. Clubhouse is beautiful, greens were immaculate. Only critical note is it’s a par 70 with 6 par 3’s. It’s just a lot of par 3’s. I’d definitely come back but only for a hot deal. The clubhouse may make it look like an $80 course but the actual course itself is more like a $45 course. It would look more like an $80 course if they cleaned up the waste areas and made them look purposeful instead of just areas of overgrown weeds. But in general it’s a nice course. Greens will make me come back.
Resurrection
The course is not called Towhee and I lay played it 4 years ago when it was still called King’s Creek. Fours years ago it was a cow pasture and I vowed to never play it again. We’ll, the new owners have totally redone this place and it was in fantastic shape! The greens were in great shape, as was the rest of the course. They’ve also got a brand new clubhouse. It’s a little pricey (the reason for the 4 stars), but definitely time well spent!
