Good and hopefully better in the future
This course has come a long way in the past few years, but still has a ways to go. The course was in good shape but the construction all around the course is distracting and unsightly. Green Fees seem a bit high for the experience, but I’ll give them another try in the future.
What a hot mess.
It would have been helpful to know that the entire front 9 was shut down when booking my tee time. Why was the front nine shut down you ask? Great question! Because they decided to aerate the greens…..on a holiday weekend….then not tell anyone but still allow the same amount of golfers on the course. I had a 1010 tee time but I didn’t tee off till 1050 because I had to wait for three groups of four to make the turn. They had golfers so jammed up that I played as a 6some and still had to wait on tee boxes. I really hope this horrible decision making isn’t a sign of what to expect out of the new owners/management of thatcourse.
Much improved
When Warrior owned the club they completely let it go. The new Bobby Jones ownership has radically cleaned up the course. New greens, removed some traps, cut down some trees and lots of messy greenery. Fairways in the best shape in years. Still in transition but they’ve started the construction for a new clubhouse and restaurant as well as enter venues. Definitely on the right track. I’ll be going back.
Great experience
Challenging course for average distance ball strikers. Course conditions were solid and greens perfect with great roll and extremely well maintained. New to the area and thrilled to find this gem!
Look forward to completion of the née club house to complete the experience.
Very Impressed
When the new clubhouse is finished this will be a must in the Nashville area. What a great turnaround for the new owners. One of the best I’ve played this summer.
Incredible up and coming
So excited for the clubhouse to be finished. The course itself is very much on its way to 5 stars. I know it's a work in progress so I feel a 4 star rating is really unfair and I will definitely be back after the clubhouse is complete to give that fifth star. That being said... the course itself is in phenomenal shape. The fairways, greens, and tee boxes are all very well cared for. There are many bridges, almost all of which have recently been redone/refurbished and driving the cart over them is not scary or loud. There is a starter and he is amazing. Gave us the history of the course and some very good info about the layout and kept the pace of play very comfortable. The staff is all so friendly and wonderful. I think I read that the carts are new... they are in excellent shape, are electric, and have USB charging ports and rain covers for the clubs. There is also a cart girl, she comes around often, and she's super nice! The course is challenging without being dejecting. There are no real elevation changes but I honestly didn't even miss that.
I'm looking forward to seeing everything the course implements when it is all finished. Right now, there are no posted yardages, and some directional signs are missing to help you get to some of the trickier-to-find holes. I'm not sure if they'll add ball washers, club washers. sand buckets, or trash receptacles on any of the holes but currently none of those things are there. It really is a course very much in progress but it is coming along nicely and I'm really looking forward to my return trip! Definitely check this course out!
Work in progress
They have made many improvements. Bridge repairs,, taking out some sand traps which we saw lead to better sand.. Rough areas were nicely cut to keep play moving.. Course was in great shape. Looking forward to seeing the new club house.
Fun course. Improving every week.
This course is getting better every time I play it. It should be in great shape this summer.
Golf Course Conditions
Excellent condition, greens have dramatically improved. Waiting to see Clubhouse build and pavilion. This golf course has great potential.
Major Progress!
Towhee club (formerly kings creek) has a bit of a troubled past. This course is under new management and is improving fast! The course is in great shape and was rolling great. The greens have been redone and many bunkers have been converted from sand to grass. The clubhouse is a trailer right now, but the renderings of the construction in progress look great! This seems like a course on an upward swing!
Fun Course
We had a couple of issues. A high school team was playing and walking. We were told they were ahead of us, but wasn't explained that they were only 2 holes ahead of us. So we got stuck behind them for a couple of holes which really slowed our pace of play, so we left hole 6 and went to 10 to pass them us, as they were covering holes 6-9. After that, we were able to move pretty quick. Only other feedback is greens were very fast and even chips were rolling right off, and the grounds were overall pretty hard. But the course was great to play and the staff was great. Its a newer course so I do feel that over time the grounds will get better with more care.
Lots of construction!!
Pros:
Friendly staff
Most fairways are ok but still need some work.
Bunkers are decent with good sand. A little edging here and there would make them great.
Cons:
They are building a new clubhouse and extending a subdivision adjacent to the course.
Greens still need work. Quite a few bare spots.
Many bare spots around cart paths.
Overall:
Overpriced!! $60+ Is about $10-$15 too high. $50+ during the week is extremely high especially given the conditions on and around the course. $45 on the weekends and $25-$30 during the week until construction and conditions improve seem more appropriate.
I don’t recommend this course at this price. This is the closest course to my house but I’ll drive further for a better experience and/orvalue.
