Neglected & Abused.
Let me start by saying this course layout is wonderful, but from the moment you pull into the parking lot the place feels neglected. Tee it off on the oceanic waves of Bermuda if you find a level spot you better mark it for next round. The rough is so thick and littered with weeds it’s impossible to track a ball. Hit it in the fairway you say? Avoid the damaged areas and steer clear of the nutsedge and crabgrass. Bring some extra balls cause the first cut will eat your ball alive too. Find sand and your next shot is off concrete. Once you finally make it to the green you’ll be moving your ball all day to find a putt that doesnt involve bouncing off damage or divots. If those don’t get you the areas aerated over top of fungus will surely throw you for a loop. Also the bridge has been out for over a year now... causing more damage to number 10.
Someone please save this place before it’s to late. What use to be a joy and bargain to play has quickly turned into a waste of money and time.
I wouldn’t recommend spending $50 for this course. Spend an extra $20 and head North of town.
They must be selling this course
Course was in horrible shape! Weeds, grass clippings and entire greens un-puttable. They must be selling and just squeezing all the money they can out of it.
Bad greens great layout
The greens are slow and in disrepair with burnt out spots, very slow and soft. The layout and fairways are great. The bunkers have red algae where they are not draining and have not been maintained.
Be aware
The green conditions were terrible. The grass was uncut in at least a day or maybe even two. The grass was so long on the greens, I’ve never seen anything like it. The fairways has 2ft weeds sticking up at random locations. The greens were also burnt with lots of sections of grass completely missing. For their price this is absolutely not worth going to ever.
Course starting to go downhill
For what they are charging to play you would expect so much more... luckily I was able to get a discounted rate thru Golfnow. Which made it worth what I paid.
As far as the course, the greens are in horrible condition, anything off the fairway good luck finding.... They have let the grass grow entirely too high.
This course has potential to be one of the better courses in the area. It just needs to be taken care of properly.
I think this course will be sold shortly and become part of the housing development they are currently building throughout the corse. Therefore explaining the current conditions and upkeep..
Bad Greens. Maintenance Weak
Used to be a nice course . Good layout with potential of 5-6 great holes. Pick any random green, it’ll have 50% bare spots. Grass growing in traps. Greens haven’t been mowed, where there is grass. My guess I’ll be closed and become a subdivision in a year
Great potential, poor upkeep
This course has the potential to be absolutely beautiful as the pictures show. In its current condition, it's fair at best. Most of the greens were un-puttable due to damage, tee boxes overgrown, and edges of the fairways so rough we lost multiple balls. Had a friend in from out of town and took a chance on a new course. Wish I hadn't. Looking forward to a future round when this is in better shape.
9 holes Greens were horrible
Greens were soaked and plugging. not to mention they were half mud \ half green. Course needs a make over and super intendant that knows how to take care of golf course. Quit after nine wholes .
Recommendation drive 20 min from here and play Saddle Creek in Lewisburg.
Well designed, poorly maintained.
If you get a discounted tee time it’s worth it. At retail it’s overpriced with greens in poor condition, lack of amenities.
Could be much betwr
Very over priced for the condition of the course. Not sure when the greens were cut last but they were the slowest and fuzziest I’ve ever played. Most bunkers were in need of sand and better drainage. Fairways weren’t too bad and tee boxes ok although not real level. Was visiting from Cincinnati so first time on this course. This compares to a $25 country course in the Cincinnati area. Will never pay $49 to play here again.
The greens mower has been fixed and we apologize for the height and lack of speed. The heat stress is on its way to repair but it will be a few more weeks. Sorry for any inconvenience. MGMT
Total Horse Pasture
Haven’t played the course in about 5 years and wish I had never played today. I don’t know what happened to this place the past 5 years, but it is absolutely TERRIBLE. They should have paid us to show up. I will never go back and it’s a shame because it used to be a great track. Don’t waste your time or money, play in your back yard instead.
Such a sad sad situation
I live less than 5 minutes from this course and it really saddens me to see what it is devolving into.. I played here on Fathers Day because Henry Horton was overbooked. It appears to me with every passing year the company that owns this course has no intention of putting forth any effort or money to make it a better experience for its patrons. Their greens that aren't fast at all are in major distress and most everyone of them is near terminal. I know bent grass isn't optimal in TN heat but this has happened every year for the past 3 years. Do you even employ a greenskeeper? Too add the bridge over the creek at the 18th tee has been washed out for I don't know how long and it appears there is no plans to repair it. I can deal with all the weeds in the fairways but the greens make it a big no for me. Again it is really sad because I have seen this course in much better shape but it just seems the owners are in no mind of investing in our local course. Thank goodness there are other viable options close to Spring Hill.
Arnold Palmer is rolling over in his grave
Wow has this course been ruined over the years. Greens are absolute crap, burned out, diseased and so bumpy you can putt. Tee Boxes look like the rough and the sand traps are dirt holes. This course had been declining for years and is at the Rock Bottom. You wanna know the worse thing, they don’t even sell Arnold Palmer drinks at the course?
Save your money and play in a local cow pasture.
Worth playing if you live near
My buddies and I played King's Creek Saturday afternoon 6/20/2020, and it hadn't rained in 2 weeks. I got a "Hot Deal" for $32 a head, and it's definitely worth that price on a weekend. The greens were obviously in rough shape due to inability to mow and I guess nobody that plays there fixes their divots. Each hole plays great with trouble looming and a lot of bunkers. No putting green really, but the range was good. There's no markers on each hole showing you what the hole looks like, and no descriptions on the scorecard, which made the course difficult for a first timer. I will play it again if the price is right, but there's no reason to pay $50 or drive very far to play it.
Worst Greens in town
Book elsewhere. What was once a gorgeous piece of property is now in such disrepair that on most holes, the greens are unplayable.
Rough greens
Not the courses fault but the greens were rough. The weekend warriors tore the place up and seems never fixed 1 ball mark.my partner and I probably repaired 10 a hole. Pace of play was good. 3 hours , 2 players...
Profiting off Arnie
employee hospitality was outstanding but course was understaffed. Mid-June and only one person running the pro shop and kitchen. Course conditions very underwhelming and embarrassing at points. Course sells you on it being an Arnie design to get you to come out and charge extra for a course that’s less kept than a subpar Nashville muni. Great layout for what could be a fun course if they decide to invest in maintaining the property. Won’t be back before change of ownership.
Thanks for coming out to play.
