Very friendly staff, excellent greens
I am from Canada and really enjoyed my round if golf with a friend.
The greens are impeccable and the rest of the conditions are favorable given the expansion and construction presently underway.
There was absolutely no interruptions by the crews during our play. The course is challenging yet forgiving for the higher handicap golfer.
I'm sure before long the new owners will install the 150 yard markers on the front nine but we would also benefit from a 100 yard marker as well on all par 4's and 5's.
I will definitely return. Gloria H. Canada
Had a great time
This course is beautifully difficult. With the Golf Now discount, I feel like I just stole 18 holes of play. Course was a little torn up due to a pipeline cutting through a few holes. This didn't really affect anything though. I'll be back for sure!
Disappointed
I live in the area so I decided that I would give this course one more chance simply based on location. I played seven holes and left out of shear frustration. Five of the holes had staff working the grounds who wouldn't even move off the hole. We literally had to play around them. Two of the holes had sprinklers running non stop because they just laid new sod. Seven of the nine holes are cart path only. Finally, the front nine is still closed! One member described it accurately. Three ring circus.
Disappointed
With half the course closed the staff did a poor job of starting play and managing groups making the turn. We quit after 15 holes after getting behind a slow threesome who started their round right in front of us on our turn. Pace of play was ridiculously bad. Not going to return anytime soon.
Unaccomadating
Booked on golfnow, but paid at the course. Got behind the SLOWEST people. No marshalls out to monitor it. Paid for 18, but only got to play 9 due to the slowness of play. The course guy said we couldn't have a refund due to the fact that we booked online, even though we paid at the course. Not even accommodating to us at all with a rain check. Makes zero sense. For a course that's under construction and always seeming to be in danger of closing from the rumors I hear it seems, you'd think they would want to have better customer service.
No front 9
the front nine was closed, which we didn't know until we got there. Half of the tee boxes had no grass, course was in sub par conditions. Don't see a reason to go back.
Don't waste your time
Course only has 9 holes open and the fairways and tee boxes look like dirt pile.
Disappointment
The front nine is closed due to sewage construction. That was not made known on the booking site. Found out when we arrived at the course. That would have weighed in on my decision before booking.
Sunday round at Kings Creek
Course in good shape for coming out of winter.
Played back nine twice as front nine under heavy reconstruction. Course marshall nice and keep pace of play going well. Overall a good round of golf for the price. We got a discount price online. Would like to come back and play in the summer when everything is greened out.
Avoid for aboujt two more years
When we arrived at the course, we were told we would have to play the back 9 twice because the front nine is closed. The city is installing a sewage main that runs through the front 9. In addition, the range is closed. Had I known in advance that these are the conditions at this course, I would NOT have booked the tee time. There was no indication when I booked the tee time about the condition of the course. In addition, the back 9 is not in great shape. Several holes smell like sewage and the fairways are poorly maintained.
lack of information
When we got there we found out that the driving range was not
open. Also found out that golf now did not post that course only has 9 holes open until the end of May. If golf now would have posted information I would have chosen a different course.
Course under Construction
I booked a tee time on golfnow. I drive 45 min to course from Hermitage. When I got there, the front nine is closed!! The city is building a huge sewer line through the course on the front nine. They have been dynamiting the place to dig a 20 foot trench. It is not their fault. It is a city fault. However, that being said, they should list that the course is under construction on golf now. No warning at all. You have to play the back 9 twice. And oh, the range is closed so you do not get a bucket of balls with your purchase through golf now like it says. Very loud due to construction. Since course has sold to this group things have gone down hill some there. The course design is one of the best in Nashville. I do love the course. I just wish or I think it is proper to let public know that course is under construction on golf now. On top of that, they punched the greens recently and greens are not in good shape right now. The cups in the holes are lined with plastic just below the cut of the hole. It lips out often. Not sure what the heck they are thinking with that. There is no dirt around cup to grab your ball due to the plastic lining. Not a fan. Change it back for god sake. I am a golf coach and have played for 35 years. Probably will be better in a month. My recommendation is to wait until at least May to play. Greens will be better and construction will be gone. Oh, eat before you go. They have a grill but is was not open today on a Saturday.......really? I had to eat a hot dog and chips. The hostess was working kitchen too so I have no idea why she wouldn't fix me a burger. Seems like they do not want to take care of customers.
Awesome deal
Great price and easy to deal with. Course was in good shape for the middle of winter.
nice course
we enjoyed this course although we are not used to the dead/brown grass on these southern courses. Staff was nice and greens were still green. We enjoyed the lay out of the course.
A Cold November Round...
It took a lot of work to get my friends and myself scheduled on the same day off to get a round in before the end of the year. So, I scheduled the day before investigating what the weather would hold. This was a very poor decision.
After about an hour and a half drive south, the three of us arrived at King's Creek, in Spring Hill, Tennessee. It was a cold and windy afternoon, but none of us have any quit in our bag!
When we arrived, we were greeted by the gentleman that was working the club house that day. He was very cordial and helpful with pointing us in the right directions, since this was our maiden voyage.
The practice tee was very nice and clean. It had ample space to stretch, hit (off of grass), and clean your clubs prior to play. The practice putting green was average in size, and located outside the front of the club house. It is something that none of us were accustomed to. But, it served it's purpose. And was very accurate to what we would encounter on the course.
Due to the cold and wind, we all decided that it would be best to move up at tee from our regular "tips." We all range in skill and handicaps (unofficial), but we typically play from the longest yardage. That way we can "get our money's worth," masochistically that is.
The Championship Tees were a great choice on our part. They were true to the yardage, but some played a little longer or shorter due to the wind. The fairways and tees were in great shape for this time of year. But the real superstars were the greens! They were soft and fast. That is a welcomed combination for a winter round. I am so used to hitting onto greens that the ball bounds like it hit concrete this time of year. The maintenance crews in my area of Kentucky could learn a few things from the gentlemen at this fine establishment.
It is a par 70, which is something that we are not accustomed to. But, it was extremely fun. The course has a quaint creek that runs throughout it. Hints the name! I believe there is a form of water on 15 of the 18 holes and sand on every single one.... a lot of sand! I mean, a lot of sand! And not the sand that comes from local creek beds that are in most golf courses that could be mistaken for goat ranches! Nice, fluffy sand.
We did stop at the turn to grab our customary hot dogs and drinks. But this time, we decided to stay inside for a little bit and warm up. Once we thawed out, we decided to hit the back nine. It was just as adventurous as the front and equally as challenging.
I would guess that in it's prime of the year, there are roughly 12 holes that are picture worthy in my book. But I have really high standards. So, there could be more than that, depending on your eye for beauty.
On the drive home we were all in agreeance that we must return in the summer. This way we not only have a better knowledge of the course, but we could enjoy it as well.
Overall, I would say that this is an excellent course. Not only for the value, but also the layout. It is extremely well maintained and fun for all skill levels. It is definitely on my list of courses to return to. If it wasn't for it being so far away, it would make my rotation. Give King's Creek your money and an honest effort. You won't be disappointed!
Good greens roll nice
Nice course good greens challenging par threes and 5s
Just a little more TLC and the course should be really good.
The greens roll better than they look. Fairways are dormant and just OK. The pace of play was not great but they were very busy. The layout is tough if you don't hit it straight. Overall, not a bad round.
Great Palmer Designed Course
Great golf course! The greens are in terrific condition and would be considered fast. The fairways were in very good condition although a little bit hairy on some of the holes. Rough was penalizing at times and could be thick in areas, as it is suppose to be. Beautiful course layout; some tight shots and some open shots to fairways, uphill & downhill. Only a couple of blind shots to fairways. You should use most of the clubs in your bag for this one. Outstanding facility with a decent driving range and short game area. The driving range was a bit lacking that day as the main area looked to be growing grass in. I will most certainly be back to play this course even though it took one and a half hours for us to get there.
Great course
Really enjoyed the course, played two other courses in the yhree days I was in the Nashville area and this course was definitely my favorite!
I like this course a lot, but.....
Played there yesterday and unfortunately was very disappointed in the state of ALL the sand traps, it hasn't rained for at least a week now and it looks as thought all the sand was washed out in a flood, I could see the dirt bottom in every single trap, not one maintenance worker seen over the whole course addressing the situation. Having said all that, I like the course as it is usually pretty good value has better than average greens and decent fairways, I'll be back again, but not in a rush.
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
We appreciate the feedback and want to let you know the bunkers are back in great shape. Unfortunately the course did flood back on the 15th & 16th causing all of our bunkers to wash out. Hope to see you back out here soon!
