The Ponds Golf Club - Red Golf Course

We were pretty excited to play this purse since it was a regular stop for a co worker of mine.
We bought on golfnow so luckily we didn't pay full price.
They have requirement that you leave your car key or ID to rent a cart. What?!!!? Obviously they don't trust their clientele. That alone told me I was never coming back.
The course was just ok. Built on a swamp with many forced carries over marshland. Greens were quite long. Tee boxes in tough shape. Fairways were very soggy as it had rained the day before and the water doesn't drain since it's all a swamp.
Staff not very knowledgeable nor were they friendly.
Many othe places to spend my money. This isn't one of them.

The Tee Boxes on the Blue and White courses NEED alot of improvement !! Many of the Tee boxes were so broken up it was hard to find a level stance. Worse Tee boxes I've ever played off of. I don't know if I'd play this course again. I played off the Blue and White Tee boxes and had my lowest round of the year. A 75, That being said it was a good day of golf for me.

Too many lay ups as the course is quite quirky. Difficult finding yardage plates. Lots of guesswork. Greens are fair but many of the pin placements were on a slope. Tee boxes were extremely beat up.

great course for the money. Challenging from the black tees with lots of forced carries and semi blind landings. The only downside to this course is there are no visible yardage markers from tees and no scorecard to show distances to different hazards around course. All in all it is still a fun course to play

I played The Ponds a couple times previously and consider the course a moderate challenge. I booked a teatime through Golf Now at a very modest price so the experience was a very fair value. The course requires substantial additional maintenance and does have some interesting terrain and challenging holes as a result. I would give it a moderate recommendation.

I drive almost 45 minutes for these 27 holes, they always have discounted rates and playing during the week is less than a 3 hour round.

Normally a great course but 4" of rain the night before gave the ponds a whole new meaning, I'll try it again after it drys out a little.

First nine finished in 2:29 minutes, five groups stacked on tenth tee. The one positive, good place to play if your looking for an audience.

Restrooms were in need of repair!!
Bridges on the course are in need of repair, with wood planks needing replacement.

If I had to pay full price I wouldn't be very happy. Owner needs to put some money in to this course. Not just the Refuge. Pace was great no one was there.

With 27 holes to play a great course to get out and get in a round without spending a whole day doing it. Bring your A-game.

Beautiful to look at. Tough for a 90's golfer. But if you keep your head about you you'll survive it and be better for it

played in 97 degree weather, so course mostly empty, except for idiots like me and my partner, but really great playing with no body ahead or behind you.8/26/

They placed us in our round behind their Course championship so we had nowhere to golf after the first nine unless we wanted to re-golf the same 9 holes. Was told I would get a 9 hole raincheck and was only given half of what I paid instead which would only cover a few holes under normal times. Will not be going back.....

I got a deal for 28/person with cart and then had a buy one et one free so it was 14/person with cart. Hard to go wrong at that price. I wouldn't pay anywhere bear full price at this point. The greens were beat up and dead in spots and the tee boxes were awful.

Staff at the Bar is not as friendly and it took forever to get something to drink.

Took advantage of a Hot Deal and overall had a good time with friends. Second time out here, played Blue to Red. Both 9s start with challenging par 5s because of water hazards. If you don't know where to hit it, or where to lay up you will find trouble.

Most greens were in good shape but a number are burned out or have other dead spots. Fairways in great shape and rough was thick but not too high.

Biggest issue was slow play on Red course, apparently due to homeowners walking/riding on without checking with proshop. I say this because the two two-somes that slowed us down disappeared on 17 (Red 8).

NOT the fault of course mgmt but lack of etiquette was troubling. Our group was not fast but waited on 13-16 which caused a sub4 hour to go to 4hr plus. Our group let a single play thru but he didn't get waived thru either. AND THESE WERE ADULTS IN CARTS, NOT JUNIORS! No idea how to fix it except teach golf etiquette and display the same.

This is a great and challenging course when it is maintained top notch. This year they haven't taken care of it as much as last year and it shows.
