The Bridges at Claresholm Golf Course

The Bridges at Claresholm Golf Course is a short detour off Highway 2, offering golfers a rewarding experience in southern Alberta. Established in 1978 as a nine‑hole facility, the course expanded in 2005 with a back nine designed by Les Furber, transforming it into a full par‑72, 18‑hole parkland layout.

A perfect summer morning was greeted with scattered clouds, blue skies and warm temperatures. After a smooth and friendly check‑in at the pro shop and a quick warm‑up on the range, the round began on the 1st tee.

This course showcases wide fairways, strategic bunkering, large contoured greens, and several water hazards that demand thoughtful play. With five sets of tees on each hole, golfers of all skill levels can find a challenge suited to their handicap. The front nine is framed by mature trees, while the back nine opens to the elements, creating two distinct playing experiences.

Course conditioning would be above average, fairways appeared to be consistently maintained, bunkers were groomed nicely and the greens rolled true and at a nice pace throughout the round. There are a number of holes (1, 7, 11, 16) that rated high on the fun factor. Hole 18, is a fabulous 525 yard, par 5 that zigs and then zags it's way to the clubhouse. A marvelous closing hole that capped off the entertainment on the back nine.

A visit to the fully licensed restaurant after the round complimented a great morning of golf. The Bridges at Claresholm Golf Course will satisfy any golfer's expectation of a great product for a reasonable price.

Great small town course

Pace was great. Greens were very slow so took some time getting used to them. Did not see beverage cart.

Need a marshal badly

Slow round. Had a 4some in front of the 2some directly in front of us. We waited on every hole for this 4some. They would not let anyone through, even though there was more than 2 holes open. 4some looked like it had 2 kids, 1 father, & 1 grandfather. You would think between the 4 of them, one of them would have had enough sense to let the two 2somes through, but nope.

No wind!!!

Course was almost empty, did round in 3 hours, was great. One of the few days the wind was not blowing hard. Course is in good condition (considering all the rain we've had, one would hope so). Good value.

Greens are quite fast

Greens are fast, they are watering the fairways to get them a little greener, which is great. The wind on the back 9 was terrible, ruined the round. Realize not much you can do about it, however needed more than 2 clubs increase to combat the wind.
