Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club
About
Located just five minutes northwest of Edmonton, Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club (formerly konwn as Hunters Green Golf Club) is spread across gently rolling terrain accented with a smattering of mature trees. At just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, the golf course doesn't use length to intimidate. The plentiful water hazards serve that purpose. Golfers will have to contend with water on 11 holes and your golf management skills will be tested with each one. Several holes present a difficult choice between going for it and laying up, a difference that could be between making par or adding multiple strokes. There are several tricky holes but the golf course isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper. The wide fairways offer some room for error. There is also a driving range available at Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club.

Not bad for the price
A lower end course with slow pace of play but worth the price when booking with a deal. Front nine is slow and built around marshland. Back nine is more mature and developed and the pace of play was faster.. The restaurant is quite nice and the food was great.
Drainage? We Don't Need No Stinking Drainage
It's almost humorous the lack of drainage. Almost. If it has rained within 24 hours save your time and money and go elsewhere. We quit after several holes of watching our tee shots splash away in the fairway into puddles so large you needed a ball retriever to get your ball. Alas, we did not have one.
Upon deciding that we would rather impale ourselves on our clubs rather than continue swimming through the course we were informed at the club house that they do not reimburse or provide rain checks for Golf Now reservations.
Just as well, I wouldn't use the rain check anyways.
Fun course for the $$$
Great staff the starter on 1 was a super nice fella enjoyed the day course is in ok condition it was a fun course to play we would play it again for the price.
Best value I have seen thus far.
I am very much a beginner golfer, and so take what I say with that in mind. I have been to only a few different golf courses, but usually by recommendation, until this time I just went with what was close and booked it on my own. The course layouts themselves were fairly simple (not to be confused with easy per se), not fancy, but enjoyable. A fair amount of water hazards, a few minor sad traps (but nothing really daunting), and not much in the way of tree or other terrain hazards. Again, a very enjoyable course, and I thought it was a great deal (having brought my own clubs, balls, tees)! I will very likely return to this course for my own personal bettering of my game. I think it is certainly a good course for beginners such as myself.
Goose dropping
I believe there are things like fake coyotes that could be put out on the course to keep the geese from crapping every where. Other then that pretty good course.
Great day for golfing!
Kyle was set up very nice. The spacing between the golf groups was well done a little extra time made sure that we didn’t hit upon the group in front of us nor did we feel rushed with a group behind us. So we had a very solid steady pace of play. The beverage waggon showed up on time and was very joyful person just like the rest of the staff.
Not great!
Greens were in poor shape. Lots of waiting at holes and no direction from the marshall. One of the carts died half way through our round.
