Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club
About
Located just five minutes northwest of Edmonton, Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club (formerly konwn as Hunters Green Golf Club) is spread across gently rolling terrain accented with a smattering of mature trees. At just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, the golf course doesn't use length to intimidate. The plentiful water hazards serve that purpose. Golfers will have to contend with water on 11 holes and your golf management skills will be tested with each one. Several holes present a difficult choice between going for it and laying up, a difference that could be between making par or adding multiple strokes. There are several tricky holes but the golf course isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper. The wide fairways offer some room for error. There is also a driving range available at Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club.

Nice Renovated clubhouse.
Great location. The clubhouse is impressive following the renovations. I thought the fairways were were a bit dry compared to other courses this year. The front nine isn't as challenging but the back nine offers many unique holes. The fescue is long and challenging.
Never played
Unfortunately I'd never had a chance to play here, therfore I'm not reviewing this course at all!!
The reason that I do a review is that I tried multiple times to book a T- time via Golf now and even if there where many times open for a good $ at the check out it popped up not available??? Makes me think they don't want to let go the T for less money and using the platform as a free advertisement.
So usually my wife and I are playing 3 times a week therfore we're always looking for a good price, fortunately there is a fantastic course around the corner where a Hot deal is bookable if u want it.
My it's time to rethink the presence on golf now before more customers find a different alley.
Have a great season.
Course is in pretty good condition
I got it on a hotdeal which made the value pretty good. Course has a descent layout and is in pretty good condition.
The thing that I disliked the most is they have the carts calibrated to beep and make crazy noises even if you are only a foot off the path. Also more advertising on the gps then I have ever seen.

The course is in good shape for this time of year.
Pace of play was a little close . Lot of groups of 2's .
people in front of us , 2 young guys , were taking multiple
shots on every hole and no one in front of them.
Maybe a Marshall on the course , will speed up play .
Overall , rating of 4 out 5 .
Will be back !
Late October
Thankful that the golf course is still open. There was a frost delay, the course handled it very well, got us out earlier than expected. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
October Fun
Nearing the end of October and still being able to golf is great. Thank you for staying open for these last good days.
Needs Rain
The Course is layed out nice, but the fairways need water. Hopefully the rain will help with this.
The people are super friendly. The carts have GPS, Ball and club washer and a cooler, a nice touch.
Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club
This course is no longer known as Hunters Green GC. It turns out new owners took over in early 2021, hence their new name: Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club.
Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club was the host for the Alberta Golf Association's 2021 Senior Men's North Qualifying Round on July 7/21.
The practice facilities were somewhat lacking. The practice green was relatively small and felt crowded with just 3 golfers on it. The driving range uneven and had patchy grass coverage. The overall conditioning of the course, ie: the tee boxes were on the scruffy side and the fairways wouldn't be described as lush. The rough was very thin fescue and was fairly easy to play from. The one bunker I found played predictably. The cart paths were shy of gravel.
The greens didn't appear to have been cut prior to the round. They are a mix of poa and bent grass and were bumpy and rolled inconsistently leaving players to second guess some of their putts. The hole pins looked like they had been in the same spot for a few days as none of the edges were sharp.
There is evidence of renovations being made to the course.
I think it would be fair to say the course wasn't up to a standard you'd expect for a qualifying round. I'm not sure what criteria the Alberta Golf Association used to choose this venue for their competition but one word would describe that decision..."disappointing."

Don't waste your money
Out about 3 weeks ago. The greens are terrible - most of the greens had 80 % kill due to the extremely wet weather we have had this summer.
Best shape ever.
I have played this course ever since it opened and it is in the best shape ever. The greens are all good and healthy which makes for consistent pace. It is a must play right now
