Great course
I've played this course many times, and I still love to go. Great course for a beginner. The staff are fantastic.
Terrible customer service/COVID practices
I have played this course before but the service this time was terrible and I will not be back. We had a 2:26 tee time for a twosome. We paid prior to arriving for 18 holes and cart.
We were told when we got their that they did not have a cart available as they were all taken. We ended up teeing off over 10 minutes late because they were so far behind. We had to carry our clubs and walk the first 2 holes because they didn’t have a cart. They finally brought us a cart and the front 9 holes were okay, but when we got to the back 9, there were 3 teams ahead of us to tee off, including a five some that was out ahead of us.
Every hole we got to we had to wait at least 5 minutes for the teams ahead of us. We ended up leaving with 4 holes left as by this time we were already over an hour longer than we should have been.
They jammed so many people onto the course it was absolutely ridiculous. And the Marshall at the first tee was beyond rude the whole time.
Good early season golf
The grounds crew has done a great job in prepping the course for the season. Greens are in good to very good early season shape. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Look forward to our next visit.
April poor condition to be expected
27 holes is nice but buck and Clark very similar boring layouts. Simpson Is more unique and fun. Course is average condition but it's April so give it a pass. Little pricy for what it is
Better than it used to be
Last year I played this course and it was dry and I’m terrible shape. This year was much better.
Average course, has some challenging holes
Fairly back and forth course (played Clark and buck), with some challenging, unconventional holes at times. Open course, doesn’t really favour a draw or fade, but you need hit a pretty bad one to have no chance of finding your ball. Majority of holes have cookie cutter round, elevated greens that slope off, simple to read while putting but can be hard to hit approach shot and not roll off. One par 4 has a literal 90° dogleg right that forced me to lay up to the bend, more daring players might have a shot of driving the green although tall spruces dissuade that.
Cart not included
Cart was included but we had to pay for a cart anyways.
Great value!
Course is fun for beginners or amateur golfers. Greens were kept in fairly well shape (no burnt patches or waffliness) and played at a medium pace. Fairways are wide and in okay shape, the rough isn't very tall so finding your ball is easier than at most other courses.
I would definitely recommend this course, and I plan on visiting again!
Good/easy course
The only thing negative is that the distance are not marked well in the fairways
