Magrath Golf Club

Staff were really friendly. Course is in great shape.

Course looked and played well. Just don’t expect to stick a ball on the green. A little firm. But great golf all around.

We had a great time, pace of play was a little quick, but we really enjoyed it

Established in 1925, The Magrath Golf Club proudly celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. In Alberta’s golfing history, only two courses have been in operation longer, Fort Macleod Golf Club (1890) and the Edmonton Country Club (1896), making Magrath GC a true pioneer in the province’s golfing landscape.

The Alberta Golf Association partnered with the Magrath GC course to host this years two day Super Seniors tournament. A magnificent choice as it exceeded the participants expectations, receiving rave reviews from all competitors. 

The clubhouse, though showing its age, remains the heart of the club, housing both the restaurant and pro shop. The pro shop may be compact, but it is impressively stocked with the essentials: apparel, accessories, and equipment that golfers expect. Friendly staff add to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring every guest feels at home. 

 Magrath GC complements its course with excellent practice amenities, including a driving range, practice bunker, and two practice greens — perfect for honing skills before tackling the fairways. With three sets of tees, the course plays from 5,442 yards (forward) to 6,632 yards (back), providing flexibility and variety for every round.

Rightfully considered one of the hidden gems of the south, this Par 72, 18 hole golf course earns that moniker with masterful routing that takes great advantage of all the terrain offers, providing a blend of challenge and function with a healthy dose of entertainment. All holes feature three sets of tees allowing a variation of 5,442 yards from the forward tees and 6,632 yards from the back tees.

This public facility embodies what golfers value most: a course that isn’t overly long but requires thoughtful shot‑making and the use of nearly every club in the bag. It’s a place where tradition meets challenge, and where the spirit of the game has thrived for a century.

Really like Magrath golf course.

Wish there was a course marshal or better management because we do seem to get bullied from time to time buy staff and some members.

We really DO recommend golfing here though because there are some great people here and it’s a great golf course but please stop the bullying, we’re actually nice couple !!!

The golf course is in great shape.

The golf carts not so much. They were dirty, old, noisy, and ion very poor condition.

The faculties at the clubhouse are also old and limited.

The weather was awesome, the course was in great condition and we had an amazing day. Started off birdie, birdie, how much better can it get.

Course Marshall needed! The pro shop staff were good enough to tell me about a tourney going on, so I knew it was not gong to be a quick round, but their were two groups that were holding back the entire course. I managed to play through one, but the other not so lucky. Paired up with another group that played thru and up to me... They eventually had to go, leaving the course after 16 holes. I hope a Marshall would have at least required 'ready play'. Thought I was behind Q - school the way pace was going. Also, if there was a drink cart, on hot days, that would be good. Thought I saw one two holes back, but never actually came across a drink cart. Real grass range and a small bucket to warm up. Good test of golf and course in nice shape. Give me a Marshall, and a cold drink on the course and I easily give another overall star.

Other then golfing horribly. It was great!!!! Even a horrible golf day is better than working. Each hole has a different look and course is in great shape
