About
Vulcan Golf & Country Club sits on the outskirts of the town. The layout sprawls across gently rolling terrain accented with stands of mature trees. The course measures to just over 6,300 yards from the back tees. It's gentle enough for beginners but also great for more advanced players who are looking for a casual round that can be played in less than four hours. The golf course starts with a gentle front nine with water only coming into play twice. Don't be lulled into a sense of comfort though, the course becomes progressively more difficult, culminating with the signature 18th hole. Water appears again on six holes on Vulcan's back nine, including on the final par-3 hole. Water borders the entire left side and there are also a slew of bunkers protecting the large green.

Great Country Course
This course is out in a small community but the staff is so helpful and friendly I enjoy the drive out there and the golf course have recommended this course to all my friends.
Front nine very slow
As per usual, got behind a 4 some of older gentlemen. Very, very slow. Would not let anyone through, by the end of the first 9, backed up about 4 groups. Took a par on 10, and just went past them. Never saw another golfer for the back nine, it was wonderful. Have to do something about these older golfers letting people through
Pretty slow
Just can't seem to get through a round without waiting at each tee box. This time, man and his grandson. Front nine, no one in front of them, no one behind us, and nope, wouldn't let us play through? Then on the back nine, there was all sorts of groups in front of us??? Maybe they sent people off the back nine?
Good weather, good course
Pace was better than the last 3 rounds. First 5 holes were awesome, then hit a wall. Course was just busy, there were groups in front of us, no break. Beautiful day so no problem.
Layout
Great layout with the front 9 as traditional and the back 9 as links. Very tricky if it's windy as the fairways are undulating and sloped. Fast, sloped and firm makes things interesting.
The only reason for not giving an excellent is poor signage from 9 green to the 10th. Got lost!!
Pretty slow
I'm sure the starter didn't know this but there was a 5 some in front of us. Guess what, they were pretty slow! Had a marshal go by, had to see that they were a 5 some, and did absolutely nothing. Got past them at 9 but they continued behind us.
Slow again
Staff is great, couldn't be better. But this is the second game in a row that the back nine took forever to complete. Last round it was a 4-some that would not let anyone past them (we are a twosome). Today, a 2 some was so slow, ended up 4 groups behind them. They need a marshal to address this.
Another great day at Vulcan
The course was in great shape and the weather was very nice. Great day to be on a golf course.
Golf now app
The Vulcan course was fantastic but I booked my tee time using the golfnow app and had to pay a $5.00 fee plus the green fees quoted on the app were misleading as I had to pay $10.00 more the the app said. I will never use this app again
Old established front 9 to newer back nine
Great country golf course with a tight front nine with old established trees to a younger back nine were you can spray the ball on the back nine and still have a shot . Fun course with friendly staff to make your day a lot of fun .
