Sunnydale Golf and Country Club
       About
Sunnydale Golf & Country Club can trace its roots back to 1923 but the 18-hole course that exists today did not come to be until 1983 when a second nine was added. During its remodeling as an full-length layout, the greens were seeded, irrigation was improved on each hole, and hundreds of trees were planted. The golf course has matured nicely into a player-friendly layout that appeals to all skill levels. The layout features flat, tree-lined fairways and small greens that are sparsely but strategically bunkered. There are also some greens that are dome-shaped to watch out for. Water hazards come into play on several holes throughout Sunnydale Golf & Country Club. Between the ninth and 18th fairways there is a practice area golfers can use that features two putting greens.

enjoyable outing
Sunnydale is a nice municipal type course, with all the challenges one can be looking for. Always an enjoyable experience, nice and friendly staff and the course is in great shape at this time of year. I am a member at another local course, but I enjoy the different challenge of playing sunnydale, with its small and challenging greens.
Course is more challenging than it looks.
Tough to hold the greens. Rolling fairways make for interesting lies on approach shots. I always enjoy a few rounds at Sunnydale.
nice course
the course is in very good condition. the greens had recently been punched but were still very good. the pro shop was excellent and treated me very nicely.
Awesome!
This is my favourite course in the valley. The pace of play is great every time. And the staff are the most accomadating. Their a flawless course.
Sunnydale on a beautiful winter day
At time of check in, the staff suggested we play the front nine because it got more sun in the winter and therefore stayed drier. We appreciate the advice and enjoyed our round.
Good Value and They Cut the Rough!
Our course was being punched so we got a good price from Golf Now. It was in the best shape I've ever seen it. And like I said they cut the rough making much more enjoyable.
A Hidden Gem
This course is one of the oldest in the Comox Valley.
The tee boxes and greens are in fantastic condition. There is little elevation - so walking the course is easy.
The pro-shop welcomed us and we started our game at the appointed time and finished in under 4 hours.
We enjoyed some of the best fresh fish and chips afterwards on the balcony. This course provides excellent value.
fun course
a nice fun course, greens are tough to hold because they are small and shaped like a turtle back! Fairly open, so not to worried about dragging the driver out, but is still nicely treed.
Tricky Approaches
Overall I found the course to be somewhat challenging especially around the greens. They are for the most part small and crowned making approach shots difficult to hold. Some may consider them unfavorable but the greens are what makes this course.
Great course
Sunnydale is a great course. Big fairways, challenging greens and lovely scenenry. Very close to Courtenay and Comox right off the highway. Great deal from Golf now on our round of play. Highly recommend this friendly relaxed course. Rob in the pro shop is awesome and the beer in the clubhouse is nice and cold!
Great walkable course
A real nice course, that was walked at a reasonable rate. It can be a little tight in areas, but fellow golfers were courteous and friendly.
Nice course
Green fees are appropriately priced. Course overall was well maintained and kept green. The greens were nice but a bit on the slow side. Pace of play could use some help, perhaps with a marshall. This course is on par with Glacier Greens and a bit easier on your wallet.
Nothing special
I got a good deal on a last minute tee time so iwent out by myself and played. Course layout was unimaginitive and all the greens were simple small round turtle backs. Greens and fairways were decently well maintained. Wouldn't play here again.
Great Value
It is nice to be able to play a good course for a resonable cost. Small and challenging greens.
Golf fun
four of us went out for a round of golf, Great sunny day, warm, play went as well as could be expected on a busy course. we were able to keep us with the players ahead of us for the most part. were chased by a couple behind us so we let them play through with only a minimum delay. All is all a great day
sunnydale
Had a great days golfing played with a nice couple from Nanaimo. Course in fine condition greens were fast, rough very deep. The bad thing about Sunnydale are some of the greens are domed and this makes putting very tough, lots of three putts.
Staff very friendly. Overall a very good day out.
Links golf
Course has small crowned greens and hard fairways. Have to play bump and run. Greens will not hold your shots from distance unless very high. Had to play like a Scottish links course. Enjoyed the round.
flat track
this is a nice old style walkable course. It has domed greens which require finesse to get close to the pins.
                Open fairways and relaxing setting.
Some good spring golfing
Course was in good condition for this time of year. Good value.
