Golfing at the Fort
Greens in great shape, some fairways needed some work - dry, brown- but in general really good.
Took only 4 hrs on holiday weekend. Great pace.
Will be back to play again.
GOOD PUBLIC COURSE
Arrived at the course and the starter did not find our reservation from golf now. Fortunately, there was an opening rt. before our scheduled starting time so we were added. Had my reservation to show him.
The pace of play extremely slow, due to no marshals to move things along. Difficult course, back was extremely long, and as usual there were no senior tees. The fairways were in OK shape, the greens were good and even the sand traps were OK.
rough in places
Played for the first time yesterday. Course is okay, but some of the fairways seemed like grass growing on a land fill, pretty lumpy. Also, the first few greens needed to be rolled out - VERY bumpy. Directions to hole 16 were misleading, for someone playing the first time. Got there in the end. Hole 16 was also confusing, some of the group thought the hole was on the right, when actually it was on the left at the top of the hill.
Nice course
Course is good walking course. Not the most challenging course but good for a 60 year old guy to walk. Course is a links course and you can find your ball if you slice. But trees will make you pay as you will be obliged to dance around them.
Greens were in good shape. It can be a little soggy if there has been a lot of rain.
Good value for your money.
Mosquitoes
The mosquitos weren’t bad in the middle of course. The first couple holes run along the river were bad
Could have played better
Greens in great shape, some dry spots on fairways, pace was great - 4 hrs - great value for the money. Will certainly return
Beautiful day for golf
Lovely golf course in good condition. Mosquitos were not bad. Staff , starter and refreshment cart driver all helpful and friendly. Recommend this course, but do have bug spray, just incase.
Fun course
Don’t like the mosquitoes so remember to bring bug sprays. Course is fun and well priced On nice days. Course had really bad drainage in 7th hole so is not fun playing this course whenever it has been raining lots
Holy Mosquitoes
If it weren’t for the mosquitoes this would be a slightly higher review. Be prepared. They are bad. They do sell bug spray in the pro shop, but it is $15. I bet the mosquitoes cost me and my partners around 5-6 strokes each. There was none around the practice area so don’t base your decision off that. Take bug spray. Took about 4:20 to finish the round. Fun layout and decent course conditions, the only thing that would keep me away is the mosquitoes.
