Lots of maintenance
Hole 11 is non existent even though you pay for it. No one told us. Hole 10 doesn’t have a tee box and many other issues. But for how cheap a hot deal is, it’s not bad. Not worth more than $15
First Time
My first time at newlands was perfect until the second hole.
I was looking at my really great shot being a new golfer.
As I walked along the fairway on the inside portion of the rough there was a pot hole unmarked I stopped deep into causing me to injure my ankle.
We finished the day and other than that not being marked and an unfortunate ankle injury.
Was a great day.
I would hope on a par 3 course there would be better maintenance and some sort of sprayed grass or plywood piece over it.
I worry about seniors and others stepping into this hole.
11th Hole Is A Mess!
Have golfed the executive 11 hole before. All was good until we reached the 11th hole. Apparently hole was moved- pin was about 75 yards away (not 175 yds as shown. No info as the the new pin, we and many other golfers were simply walking off the course after 10, since we did not believe that the pin was actually a green. Terrible green and no communication or signage made the hole unplayable.
This was a fun course. I found more balls than I lost. Is that a good thing? It's a bit of a walk to get to the course, but overall, a nice course.
HIde n Seek Balls
This was a fun little course to spend a couple of hours on. I found more balls than I lost, so that turned out pretty good for me. There are lots of trees with branches on the ground, so it is difficult to find your ball if you hit it off course, which I successfully did multiple times.
Definitely a course for beginners a little unorganized and if you walk it, it’s really hard to figure out where the keys are. I would recommend renting a cart the first time.
Room for improvement
- only one set off tees
- can’t see the pin on 30% of the holes
- getting to the first tee is a journey, same with getting back to the parking lot
- no 150y markers, no signage around the greens to keep people’s carts away from around the greens
- no signage to where to go next
- need a safety fence on hole 6
- green on 11 is a joke
- the others greens are very good, plus having no bunkers is wise for an executive course
Course quality failing
I’ve played this course several times over the past years and find that the quality of the course is slowing failing. I think I’ll seek elsewhere to play a short game in the future.
The executive course is convenient to me for 2 hours of golfing.
Please trim the tree branches which blocked the golf ball projection.
Good value
Spring work on the course could be better marked but it is always good value for the money
