Granite Pointe Golf Club
About
The first nine holes of Granite Pointe Golf Club were built in 1920 and were later joined by a back nine in 1993 that tumbles through the mountains. The layout features a number of risk-reward holes that require accurate shot-making. The golf course begins with rolling parkland and offers wide, player-friendly fairways but then becomes progressively more challenging as it winds through the mountains. There are several elevated tees on the back nine that offer spectacular views of Kootenay Lake and the Kokanee Glacier. Holes 15-17, known as the Three Aces, offer some excellent scoring opportunities. The par-4 16th is touted to be one of the best holes in BC. The golf course finishes with its signature hole. This par 4's trademark is the massive granite boulder that partially blocks the view of the home stretch.

Incredible track
I never truly appreciated Granite Pointe until I moved away and anytime I am back in town I always play. The GM Reggie is reason alone to come play this course. The teaching Pro when nbot busy giving lessons 7 days a week is so knowledgeable. Very friendly staff that appreciate you playing. Very rare for golf courses these days.
Must play
Early 2022 and this course is in great shape , amazing views and after your round there are so many amazing restaurants in Nelson
Front 9 or Back 9? Just choose
Was greeted by a friendly staff, where I picked up cart keys and scorecards. Was asked if this was my first time playing....said yes, you will need a course planner and there free. Between the course planner, scorecard and my GPS watch took us 3 holes to finally figure out that they had switched the 9's, nothing was said by the staff, and even if they did it wouldn't make up for changing par 5 to par 3 etc....
I totally get changing and make the course better, but tell people, especially when you ask them is this your first time. And maybe get correct scorecards.
Also ran into a few members, what arrogant @$$holes. Playing with my son I understand that rounds maybe slow however, we were playing well on time 1.5hrs for 9. While I was teeing it up on 10, the group begin us PUTTING on 9 asked if they could jump ahead as we were too slow, then we proceeded to wait on every tee box until 16.
Play somewhere else, anywhere or maybe just take the day off, not worth your time.
Great day
GolfNow.com what a great way to play like you didn’t care. A series of tragedies obscured by one miracle. Truly fun
Challenging fun corse w Incredible views
So glad w stopped in for a round. A fun course. Some large granite boulders are unique to have in play. A treat with many interesting holes and friendly local golfers. Back 9 is walkable but advise a cart for the front. - www.calgaryhomeprs.com
Great day of golf
We loved the up and down holes, as a intermediate golfer it was a good challenge and the greens were in great shape. Carts were a little dated but ran fine. Would definitely play again
