Granite Pointe Golf Club
About
The first nine holes of Granite Pointe Golf Club were built in 1920 and were later joined by a back nine in 1993 that tumbles through the mountains. The layout features a number of risk-reward holes that require accurate shot-making. The golf course begins with rolling parkland and offers wide, player-friendly fairways but then becomes progressively more challenging as it winds through the mountains. There are several elevated tees on the back nine that offer spectacular views of Kootenay Lake and the Kokanee Glacier. Holes 15-17, known as the Three Aces, offer some excellent scoring opportunities. The par-4 16th is touted to be one of the best holes in BC. The golf course finishes with its signature hole. This par 4's trademark is the massive granite boulder that partially blocks the view of the home stretch.

Great Views
Beautiful course. Stunning views. Bring your A game if you want to score well. Greens are challenging.
Great views, especially after 3
I'd been told some love and some hate this golf course.
All in all, I enjoy it, once you get past the first three holes. They really are junk, not appealing at all visually, greens are poorly designed as they all slope away from the front, pretty much eliminating any chance of hitting it close unless you get lucky.
After that though, it's a really nice layout. Not overly tough, a lot of birdie opportunities, but also some spots where you can get in trouble.
Greens were in good shape and there are some outstanding views of the valley and Nelson below.
Granite Greatness
For a smaller course in the heart of the Nelson BC city limits this course is fantastic, especially if you like the challenge of rarely having a flat lie. The staff is super friendly and the views of the surrounding mountains and lake are stunning.
Great experience
Great course, great views, very welcoming. Lots of hills, fun layout. Got a steal of $15 for 18 holes on golfnow so no complaints.
Great price
Great price, but if playing thursday afternoon prepare for longer round, as its mens night. Also prepare for a grumpy proshop staff. Restaurant staff were great though and they had great specials
I’m a member at GP and brought some friends that were visiting from out of town. The pro shop staff was very helpful and friendly, top notch service. The course is in excellent shape, minus some rough spots in the fairways but you can’t expect perfection on a course built on the mountainside. The greens are in great condition and Granite Pointe offers a challenge on every single shot. My friends and I enjoyed the day and the challenge. Thanks to the staff for making it a friendly and enjoyable experience for my guests.
Challenging in parts and beautiful scenery
This was our first time playing here and we found the front nine challenging and the back nine easier. Nice combination of long, middle and short distance holes. Fairways and greens in good condition. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fund round in a mountain town.
Great day at Granite
Played Granite Point, and had a great outing. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff. Challenging course.....plays longer than it looks.
Excellent day
I couldnt believe the course was not packed.. we started our round at 1:30 PM, no one in front or behind us.. we absolutely loved the course, grioned nicely and polite friendly staff..
Staff is top notch
The young staff at this golf course were very courteous and friendly . Top notch professionalism from pro shop to cart girl who was a totally helpful in ensuring a great day on the links .
Granite pointe well done!
