About
MaraHills Golf Resort (formerly known as Hyde Mountain Golf Course) boasts a stunning setting thanks to its location within the hills above Mara Lake, with views that span the surrounding mountains and hardwood forests. Les Furber, a well known name in British Columbia golf, designed this challenging layout. You'll be using every club in your bag and you can't afford to take any of the tee shots lightly. The golf course is routed through dense groves of mature trees and across deep ravines that make for some intimidating tee shots. One hole that exemplifies the MaraHills Golf Resort experience is the par-4 fourth hole. At 483 yards, the yardage may seem strange but you'll understand why it has so much length once you're standing on the tee box, which is perched 200 feet above the fairway. The elevation offers an incredible view but be prepared for a difficult hole from tee to green.

Great old course. You take your life in your hands though…
Beautiful course and challenging back nine. However they use gas carts that are prone to surging. They absolutely need to switch to electric carts for safety sake. My cart locked up on me at least five times during my last round as the engine surged as I was headed down a steep downhill. Crazy! Someone will lose their life if they don’t fix this.
For the price they charge for the carts, it makes no sense to play roulette with golfers lives!
Hot golf
Very pleased with every aspect of the course except for the sand trap we’re a little light on sand. They were a little difficult to play out of.
First class golf course
The course was in great condition, the only thing lacking now is a driving range for a pre game warm up. The views are amazing from most of the holes, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t wait for next season.
Beautiful course
The course was in excellent shape, staff was very friendly and helpful as always. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in having a great golf experience.
Good course terrible atmosphere
While the course is very nice and well kept. We had multiple groups not evening golfing driving around the course. One group was driving against the flow of play randomly stopping and filming the area with no thought to people playing their shots. Another group who weren’t playing ripped passes us while we were playing number ten to meet up with their group of friends to dump a bucket of range balls on the accompanying green.
Great course would definitely play again we just got stuck behind a Karen and her two friends, we're upset that they were in their words being rushed. Apparently according to them it's okay to look for balls for half hour. Our round was just over 5 hours
Great course.. needs more attention.
I like the course, long drives, great views lots of elevation.
Lots of debris on the fairway, broken branches..pine cones AND lots.. and lots of beaver tails. Golfers that are not replacing them after iron use.
Same as the greens. Golfers not fixing ball divots. Greens need to be rolled better. Putting was a challenge as the ball would jump left /right on the way to the whole. Overall course maintenance i thought was poor for 9:30 tee time.
the course was great, only problem was if you had not played this course before there was a lot of blind shots, however in saying that it was still great layout and some really interesting holes e.g. Hole number 4, what a view from up top. you need to hit a great shot here to stay in fairway as everything slopes down towards the water.

Whoever renamed the course “Mara Hills” needs to have his or her butt kicked each step from #1 tee to #18 green. There are no hills, it’s Hyde Mountain! It’s never to late to do the right thing. Also the previous manager had the course restaurant as one of the best in Sicamous, not true now.

Let Down by Proshop
I booked a late round to take my father out to celebrate his birthday and left quite disappointed.
First not the courses fault, but mosquitos are AWFUL. Make sure to bring bug spray.
Second, we were a twosome with cart and booked the last available online time for 5:50 and figured we would play quick. Checked in and no issues and headed out.
Fast forward to hole 15 @ 8:25PM and the proshop guy comes out and says it is company policy all carts have to be in by 8:30PM.
1) No where in the clubhouse or website acknowledges this
2) Why would they take a booking so late when an average round is 4 hours and there was at least an hour of light left (sunset 8:50PM)
3) Why would we not be told this when teeing off?
We were on pace for a 3 hour round and couldn't finish, VERY disappointing.
