Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

Pace of play
Well over 5 hours for 18 holes Pace of play is non-existent unfortunately. Otherwise had a great time. Great staff, decent greens. Good value for money. I would recommend this course to a friend, but I would warn them they wouldent finish on time.
Tough public course
Lots of water carries, hole #16,18 especially tough. Real challenge for mid-range golfers.
Practice areas has nets, laege putting and chipping areas
Tough public course
Very challenging holes Lots o water to carry. Greens were punched and were very slow.
Tee boxes need lots of work,
No marshall, no refreshment cart.
Slow/Music
This course always tends to play ultra slow. Over 5 hours and 20 minutes to complete a round. Most of the slow play is because of design. A par 3 second hole, tee times booked too close together.
Why courses allow music to be played is beyond me. I guess if its just loud enough for you to hear, then no one would know. Nonetheless they allow it and of course we gotta be by a guy blaring hard heavy metal you can hear 125 yards away. Plus real nice when you are beside the same fairway and cant concentrate because of it. Guy even had nerve to get mad when a group hit close to him and yelled fore but he couldnt hear because of his music.
The course did send a marshal over to him once, but it lasted until the marshal left.
Its unfortunate the course plays so slow. Could be a fun course to play. Some of the greens can give some pretty amazing putts to try. But we wont be going back. Slowest play i’ve ever had, and just not worth playing because of that alone.
Fun to Play
Course provides a good challenge, has plenty of interesting holes, with a variety of greens- large, tiered, slick, and sloping. Fairways are in good shape, and a good mix of risk/reward holes.
Good course that can be played on a regular basis for the average golfer - price/value is solid, and the food is very good at the 19th hole.
Great muni course
Have played this course fairly regularly. Fairways and greens are in great shape. Some tee boxes need reseeding. Please repair your ballmark, and one more.
