Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

Perfect day
Weather was perfect, course now dry and rollout in fairways, greens in excellent condition, should stay in excellent shape now until our winter rains start
Playing well
The course is really playing well. Fairways and greens are nice. There are still some soggy spots but they are few and far between. Pace of play is a bit rushed but manageable. One nice thing at this time of year, leaves are not on the trees. Sometimes if you're lucky with your shot you make it through the branches and come out on the right side!
Course in Good Shape
With the warmer weather, the course has dried out and is playing nicely. I like that there are very few "straight" holes and it gives you many choices for getting to the greens. Pin placements today were in some tricky spots. Definitely a fun track especially for the price.
Guilford drying out and getting fast!
Weather is on our side. Sun is drying out the course and now you can get some run out on the fairways and the greens much quicker. Looking good!
Good start for the season but very slow
Had to stop after 15 in 4:20 hrs. Got to move the pace.
A muddy, muddy mess
Didn't feel like golf out there at all, today. Mud everywhere; fairways in bad shape accordingly. Won't play it again until the summer, when course has enough time to dry out and heal.
Wet and Sloppy
I like Guildford and I will ask ways play it a few times a year.
But today it bordered on unplayable as it was so rain soaked.
I do like what they did to preserve 18 as a par four.
Very wet, but still beats working.
After last night's rain the course was extremely damp and muddy. Lots of plugged balls. Some greens soggy as well. Still playable and challenging but expect to get dirty until we get warmer weather and less rain.
Punched greens
Standard policy for any bookings is to inform the golfer that the greens have been recently punched
The greens were covered in sand and it was not an enjoyable experience
Too much money
There were a lot of temperary greens and the ones that were still in play had been heavily sanded so you had to pound the ball twice as hard than you would normally.. I think for what was offered it was way over priced. Also the 16th hole was closed..
Acceptable
Muddy fairway, poor bunker, green under treatment. At $19, what else you can ask?
