Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

Greens are very slow.
All greens are very slow.
So many slow players. It took 5h and 35min yesterday.
Waiting every single hole for 5-10min.
FIRST TIME @ GUILFORD
The course was in good shape, the greens were holding well, except I felt the greens were a little slow, bunkers could use more sand.
Apart from that, I would come back and play it again.
Average course
Average course worth a play if you can get a decent price on Golf Now. An easily walked course --- especially recommended when management wants $32 for a cart rental.
The course has many challenges
With the lack of rain over the past three months long hole fairways are rock hard. On some tee boxes it is difficult to get the tee in the ground and they generally break in half after the tee shot. The course management needs to water the fairways to soften up the ground. Water comes in to play on 14 holes.
Ponds can be avoided with the exception of the short 16th, but the creek has to crossed on 7 of the holes, which is okay for long hitters but can be a problem for senior golfers which may involve lay-ups. Greens are relatively large and rolling.
Good round!
Really liked the lay out of the course! Got a good price on golf now! Hope you open up better prices during mid week mid afternoon. Did not seem to be a full set of golfers on the course. I believe more golfers would book if the prices were reasonable 15-25 per round
Good
This course is very good condition and comport play
Good condition fast fairways
Overall good condition, greens were a bit bumpy, 10-12 foot putts were occasionally missed because of greens, but really good value and will definitely play many more times in the future.
Well kept
Very nice course, just a little bit expensive for what you get. Will golf again though.
Great shape and value for dollar
Had a great round. Posted rates are reasonable and with Golf Now, I can book as a single, which is otherwise impossible in the Lower Mainland. The foursome in front let me play through and I finished my round in 3:30!
The course has only one real fault and that's the power lines running right through the golf course. However, the design is such that they only come into play maybe on one hole. So, it's an aesthetic thing really.
Not super long (I played from the tips 6500 yards and shot an 82) but there are some challenges and some difficult greens.
It's beautifully maintained and the staff is very pleasant including the marshals.
I'm going back.
Great day it was...
First time playing this course and was pleasantly surprised. The course was in very good shape. The layout is good with some blind tee shots and elevation changes.
I will be going back for sure.
must play target golf
loved the challenge of avoiding hazards in the line of play requiring distance accuracy. The greens were in great condition and very challenging for undulations.
Course was in good shape
Course was in pretty good shape yesterday considering the wet weather recently. Looks like they were doing some clubhouse renos but the price was right and it was a good round. Guys in the proshop are nice.
There are better couraes
If you're in the area there are way better golf courses
Golf in Feb
To be able to golf this time of year is great.
The coarse was in good condition considering how wet it was
Good value for the money Keep it up
A little muddy
We have had lots of rain. My golf day was sunny but very muddy, Lost plugged balls. Fairway grass quite long. 110 yards from the first tee, walking to my ball, the sprinklers came on and got me a little wet. Didn't get the full blast. They've closed the 16th hole and made the #7 par 5 into 2 par 4's with rough greens. Confused my Garmin GPS. watch. Any day you can play golf is a good day.
Water course!
After day and day rain, the course is wet, the fairway of first hole is lake! and also, the #16 hole is closed.
But the money is cheap and value!
Wet and soggy conditions.
Course very wet, soft and soggy. Several balls land in in fairway with visible spash. Greens are soft, fuzzy and slow. Walked and finished with mud stains on my trousers up to my knees! Feet sink into fairway sponge on every hole! Thankfully, I had Oregon Mudders on so feet were dry. I won't be back.
good for the price
Very good course for my real practice. Much better than practice ranges.
Nice course - Too Bad Greens Punched
I quite like this course but prefer to know in advance if the greens have been recently punched. We were not aware and I double checked to see if current listings note this ... they do not.
Overall the course is a good value venue. The greens are normally quite good and the fairways in a quality condition unless there is a prolonged dry spell as earlier in the summer.
Lots of water and hazards but mainly fair and clear from the tee. It does help to plan with someone familiar with the layout on specific holes where a blind tee shot is involved.
flat
Course was layout interesting. Had to carry creek on many holes or lay up short and have a longer club into the green. Greens were smooth but a bit on the slow side 9. Fairway were open but had a bit of bare spots which was a downer. Tee boxes were crowned along with bare spots which I thought needs the most work on.
