Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

This course has great features, creeks ,mountain view,.
Great course, the green were well
maintain. except the sand traps they were more like mud traps. The one complain I have is customer service was bad. Specially when they know you got hot deal from golf now. They almost make you feel guilty that you got a great deal
Best value course in Surrey, B.C.
Friendly staff. The tee box, fairway and greens are well maintained. Always have weekday and weekend specials. Highly recommend this course to friends and co-workers.
scary high voltage power tower cross over the course
A little bit wet on the course due to the weather, iron play and fairway play demanded to be good to make a good up and down. Trees and lakes and creeks added to be more challenge level. Good value on $20 something!
Great bang for the buck!
Course does feel boring at first but when you continue on it was a fun! Sure there are power lines everywhere but didn't bother our group. Course makes you hit blind shots and use different clubs. Great course you don't really see anyone on the next holes and it's pretty quiet. I'd definitely play again!
Five hours plus
This is your ultimate Ma and Pa golf course. Since I started playing here they have completely redesigned the layout twice, each time for the better. The newest version brings a substantial creek into play on many holes creating some forced carries and challenging shots. Conditioning is OK but not great. The problem with this course is pace of play. They offer some attractive green fee packages in the afternoon and unfortunately that brings out a lot of players who aren't good enough to play here If you're going to play in the afternoon, expect to be on the course for 5 hours minimum.
Price is good; everything else is average to poor
The only good thing I can say about this course is that the price is reasonable.
The course layout is just okay, with some of the holes being really poor. It's not particularly well maintained either, especially some of the bunkers. There is too much sand in some of the bunkers, and they are not raked.
The reason the bunkers aren't raked is because this course attracts a lot of hackers who don't understand golf etiquette. The staff at Guildford G&CC could do a better job educating their customers about proper etiquette.
My biggest complaint about this course is the 7 or 8 minute separation of tee times, which is just not enough time between groups. This leads to a log jam on every single hole and 5+ hour rounds of golf. I'd prefer to spend a few dollars extra per round and have tee times 10 or more minutes apart.
Slow play
The pace of play was terrible, over 5 hours to complete the round. The Marshall was feckless and did little to get groups ahead of us to pick up the pace. Will not go back there again.
Great Value
Great course for the price is Surrey. Friendly staff and easy going.
Good value and an interesting course
I played here last year for the first time in at least 25 years and was very pleasantly surprised. Although for one shoulder season round the conditions were a bit too "rustic", in general it's decently maintained. The best part about it is that the layout is quite enjoyable: a good mix of holes, none really weak or weird and a number of strong ones.
I'm loath to say too much more lest this relatively low profile and very good value course gets "discovered" by too many folks, so let's just keep this our secret, OK?
very wet
has been raining alot.had not rained for 2 days .was very wet and muddy. a few temporary greens. guy at desk said greens were punched and sanded 2 weeks earler, seemed more like 2 days. 4 or 5 tee boxes had to hit off mats. have not golfed here in years and will be a long time before i golf here again
Better than the Mall!
The day was very nice weather wise. The course was a bit confusing in the way it was set up and the direction you were to go. There were some temp greens and they were beginning to aerate the greens. Course was reasonably dry. Price was right! Sunny, mild day in March is always good.
Wet course
Had a round on March 1. temporary greens, no tee boxes basicly course under constraction.
