Greenacres Golf Course

Ok but greens had been punched and sanded and either golf now nor the pro shop mentioned this so I think we paid too much- because of rain at beginning of round and maybe because of greens conditions

we were only people on course

Overall a challenging course fun to play any enjoyed the afternoon looking forward to the next game

Best value for the money to play golf in Richmond. Absolutely will recommend to my friends.

We decided on Greencacres because it's close and through GolfNow it was relatively cheap.

The course recently took on a lot of water and was finally dry. There were large patches of dried mud where massive puddles used to be. Those will take time to recover. A wind storm earlier in the week scattered debris everywhere that was somewhat, but not all, cleared. Still, no major issues. The strangest thing was they cut a few of the holes in the worst, chewed-up parts of the greens. Putts would jump and bounce on their way to the hole. There were parts of the these greens that were in great shape and I don't understand why they wouldn't put the hole locations there.

All in all, you get what you pay for. It was fun. I will probably end up playing there again in the future for the reasons I mentioned earlier, but I hope that the course will be in better condition at that time.

Haven't played Greenacres for several years. Weather was finally perfect after a very long winter, but the course is in pretty rough shape with a lot of mudded-up fairways, still deep and mucky rough, and some greens hit by frost burn (but the price was reasonable for the conditions). The pace was good (for a long weekend Monday morning; 4 hrs 5 mins) and the Course staff were very accommodating and friendly. Lunch afterward was good too! Will be back and no doubt the course will return to better shape as Spring continues.

The only difference between the Okefenoke swamp

and Greenacres is there are no Alligators!!!!

Good layout, challenge with many trees. The green is small and it is hard to hit and stay on the green. It will be perfect course for locals if they can make the green faster.

The course is still trying to recover from all the rain. Lots of Mucky spots. Greens were good except for one which had track marks running through it. Better than temps though. The staff were very friendly. Got a HOT deal from golf now. Can't beat the price.

The course was a bog on a dry, mild day with lagoons of mud making half the holes unplayable. We gave up after 14 holes, and we literally could not walk down some of the fairways without sinking ankle-deep in mud.

The condition was extremely wet, part of the fairway was covered with water. It was difficult to walk to say the least, sometimes its impossible.

Lost few balls in the middle of the fairway due to the ball disappearing in the mud and water paddle.

I will start with the postive. The starter is a good guy. The rest is average or poor. The course is short and if you can hit a 5 iron 200 yards you do not need to bring a driver. The fairways all run very close to each other. Balls come from all directions. I have never heard more fores yelled at any other course ever. The greens are all flat and boring. The course is very flat. It is a course that one time around is enough. I also can't make any suggestions on how to improve it because the land has nothing to offer.

Play here often--we love it 18 holes not to hard - flat - a few water hazards--easy to get on & very central location--good people to deal with -- would recommend it to anyone if they want to have fun & not beat yourself up on a very hard course--they have a nice restaurant & pub so what more could you want..
