Golfer Reviews
poor grounds keeping
i could not believe that i lost a few balls in the fairway !
as did others in my group .
the grass has not been cut in many areas and was long and tough to get a club on , if you happened to find it .
where the grass was cut , there were 4 inch grass clipping , this made almost impossible to to find your ball when it rolled under that mess
this was consistent on every hole and got to be very frustrating , Wedge shots were impossible.
at the turn i asked the marshal that we seen all day and he said it was because of the rain , i golfed monday and tuesday and those courses had no issues with 4 inch grass clipping all over the place
very disappointed
Into the thick of it
Conditions were awesome. This course is target golf at its best. I found myself off of the fairway often and it is tough. First cut is super dense and gives you the feeling of hitting out of Velcro. If you’re an average golfer at best you’ll be swinging more than normal to advance your ball. Keep it safe and straight here.
Always a fun track
Worth the drive from Hamilton for this course. Lots of elevation changes, challenging greens, great conditions. This course will not disappoint... higher handicap golfers I’d recommend playing the whites - it will still require most of the clubs in your bag. Each tee shot is unique and requires a plan tee to green. Would recommend to anyone who has never played here before.
Not ready yet
Bondhead is usually stellar but where other clubs have groomed bunkers but no rakes , theses guys have chosen not to even bother putting sand in them. The greens are very inconsistent. Like I said not the norm so I hope it gets better.
First Time
Always wanted to play but never got to it until now. Why did i wait, great course, beautiful views .... cantvwaitvto go back. Only downside was my Golf now GPS didn't have Bonehead North available so the blind shots were an adventure
Course Ready for the PGA Tour
The rough at this course is ridiculous for the average golfer. If you are not on the fairway there is a good chance your ball will not be found. It was like they were prepping for a PGA Event. No likely to return.
Great course overall but..
Was wet but that was expected. Fairways and tees are great. Greens are nice but lots of moss. The bunkers on the other hand were embarrassing for a course of this quality. I played the South weeks ago and was the same. Completely unplayable might as well let grass grow in. Worth $65 but not much more. I would play again however
Great course
If you want a challenge, this is your course. Amazing time, will be back soon!
Worth the Wait
I play 1 or more times a week, and a couple of times, each summer, I enjoy playing a more challenging/elite course.
I've tried to book Bond Head quite a few times, as I've always heard such positive things about the course's from other golfers that I respect.
The star's finally aligned, and I finally was able to book a tee time @ the North Course.
It was definitely worth the wait ! From the warm, and informative greeting at the gate, to the wonderful scenery, the more than capable staff who had everything prepared for us ( the Carts were ready,...no worries of running out.)..nice warm up facilities... friendly Marshals' monitoring the pace of play.....and , overall, just the calm vibe, and absolute lack of chaos ( on a weekend, no less !!) throughout the club...unlike places like Glen Abbey, etc, this was like watching a well oiled machine!
We really enjoyed the challenging , but fair,North course, ( every hole I had to just stop and look around too at the scenery & views) ...we can't wait until we get a chance to play the South ....thank you, Bond Head, for a great all-around experience...keep up the great work !!!!
Terrible
I have been to this course many times over the years. Monday, the starter (who was completely useless) gave away our time when we were at the tee blocks 3 minutes late. We had to leave after 9 because it took 3 hours. Nobody was in front of the group and they wouldn’t let us pass. Maybe if there weren’t 18 starters and a couple more marshals it wouldn’t be as bad as an experience. Not like this review will matter but just thought I’d say what everyone else is.
