MontHill Golf and Country Club - Blue/Gold Course

Had a great day will be back to play it again my wife thought it was terrific also

Not playing the course before made it very difficult to know where to go. A lot of blind shots and extreme doglegs without definition. The clubhouse is so outstanding that I expected a lot more out of the course.

Let me start by saying the staff were excellent and compassionate to our almost late tee time. I didn’t realize the difficulty at trying to get to the south side of Caledonia. I was expecting to arrive 35-40 min early, but hit blocked roads twice before I eventually found access by travelling 10-15 km east of town. Regardless, starter said we were up and quickly we teed off on Red. Had great success passing two foursomes on that 9 and finished front 9 in just under 1-/2 hrs. The starter then asked us if we wanted to move to Blue versus Gold due to 3 group back up at tee. We agreed, but the Blue course was also backed up, once we got to the third hole. Pace on back was about 2-1/4 hrs. All in all, quick 18. Let’s talk about the course, the tee blocks were pretty beat up, the greens were in good shape but recently aerated, the fairways and traps were in pretty good shape. Back to the carts. They appeared nice and clean, but no shields separating the two golfers. In my case it was fine, as I was golfing with my wife. Thought it odd, didn’t know there are changes, but didn’t ask anyone. They have GPS and scoring (this is great) Price through GolfNow was excellent. Definitely go back. Hadn’t golfed here in over 15 years.

The staff at the pro shop was young boy who was too busy making deals for his friends to care about anyone else. He was rude and his friends did not follow any rules like exiting thru entry only and not wearing mask. Very poor COVID-19 protocol which shows how little consideration management care of this pandemic.. Embarrassing.

The servers at the Steakhouse on the other hand was very friendly and always wore masks.

It was my first visit since the new pro shop opened up. Absolutely awesome venue. Course has some interesting tracks to keep you on your heels a bit, but it's not overkill for a novice like myself. Cannot recommend this course enough. It's always a pleasure to play here.

I tried to cancel the round the day before because I was no longer able to go. Could not cancel so I got charged $100 to not even play.

Wow.... today I played late October, pretty much on the last day of the season and conditions were a little wet but overall GREAT for so late. Greens are in perfect shape, rolling true with almost No ball marks. Staff at pro shop are especially friendly and helpful. Course layout is ery pretty and excellent with many challenging (and long) holes so choose your tees properly. I will surely play next season in warmer weather.

Very good course with a variety of challenges for all levels of golfers. Course in good shape for this time of year.

27 holes should probably be realigned to 18. Would get rid of some quirky holes. A lot of dog legs and a 205yd par 4. With

I work at Heron Point so the luxury of playing there has made it tough to play places of lower quality but this course is being renovated and has an excellent clubhouse along with a great staff inside. I know the assistant super and he is a great guy. I would recommend this course for any beginner to avid golfer who wants a challenge. Only real down fall is that there is no range or practice facilities. Other than that, hit the links at Monthill Golf and Country Club!

Nice 27 hole course with a good variety of holes. Very friendly staff.

Same good food and some of the same great staff! Short course plays fast. Tee boxes need watering. Beautiful day! Great course for working on second shot to greens!

Played 18 holes during the afternoon. Course was in great shape. Only issues were the tee blocks were a little firm and beat up, but still very playable. Rest of the course was great. Greens all ran true. First time at the course and I really enjoyed the layout. The new upgrades make it a fantastic place to visit. GPS on the carts make for faster play. New clubhouse it beautiful. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Very nice course with tee levels for all levels of play. Very welcoming staff.

Course has matured and well maintained. Pin placements a little tricky. Staff were fabulous with smiles on their faces. The new clubhouse sure does beats the old barn. lol Casino?

Course was in great condition greens fast pin placements were challenging course layout was excellent recommended if you haven't played this course it is a gem. The clubhouse is being rebuilt but almost completed. Pro shop was well stocked and bright.
