Sawmill Creek Golf Resort & Spa

About
Sawmill Creek Golf Resort & Spa is southwestern Ontario's premier golfing destination. Located just east of Sarnia and less than an hour from London, the golf course is a conveniently situated getaway that feels much further thanks to an idyllic location along the shores of Lake Huron. The course is a par-71, links-style design that is challenging enough for avid golfers but still playable for beginners. The gently rolling landscape was enhanced even further with the addition of more than a million tons of earth, which was carefully molded to look as though it had always been there. The meticulously crafted mounding adjoins the fairways, providing a continuous flow throughout the golf course. In addition to the mounding, golfers will also face large bunkers, tall fescue, bluegrass rough, and desert-like waste areas. It may appear daunting, but Sawmill Creek is not as tough as it looks.

Sawmill Creek - rebirth
I played Sawmill at its peak and I watched the new owner absolutley ruin the course. The new owners have done nothing short of an amazing job of breathing life into this Lambton County links jewel. If they keep doing what they are doing, my ratings will be 5 stars across the board. Right now, best value for the dollar for a good quality course from tee box to green. True links feel.
The course is well on the way back from previous ownership
Considering the previous owner devastating the course, the new management is doing great things toward bringing it back ftom "tye abyss". Congratulations on all of your hard work. A ways to go, but I'm confident you will get there doing what you're doing.
a previous member.
Decent course
Decent course. Price was not bad. $60
For 18 holes with a Cart. Only negative thing that stood out to me was the price of the food. $40 for 3 hot dogs is a bit ridiculous.
Pleasantly surprised
I played this course in June of 2023. At this time it was in very poor condition. When I played it on May 23, 2024 I was amazed on how it improved. The tee boxes were in good condition and the greens were in very good condition also. The sand bunkers were playable but they needed work. Whoever is responsible for this wonderful transition should be very proud of what they have accomplished. Keep up the great work.
Trying
Sawmill is trying but the previous manager let it go so far down it will take a lot to bring it back. The new super is doing a great job with what he has
Course Improvement
This course ha greatly improved over the last few years. Hopefully they continue to bring the course back and clubhouse amenities.
Trying
Greens were good fairways still weedy but improved tee block show lack of upkeep but attempt was made. Clubhouse closed and deplorable while pro shop still has moldy smell. After years of neglect it is a good retrieval attempt
Good place to play for your money
Every time I go back is good to see the improvement they are doing
So poorly run
I used to be a member at Sawmill. Loved this course. Course sold and new owner ran it into the ground. Just called and let it ring many times with redial - no one answers. Course with unlimited potential that is run so poorly - a shame! Please sell the course to someone who wants it to flourish.
Not worth the money
Although the staff have made extreme improvements the course has a long way to go. The bunkers they dug weeds out of during the summer have regrown in with weeds (GUR does not even apply ) the fescue (weed Infected) has been cut but left with uncut grass.
The one staff member we met was great but careful. It is clear they are trying to make improvements but whether they are trying to bring the course back or trying to take as much money out of it as poosible before bankruptcy is unclear
Still needs work
The overall course conditions were good. Bunkers aren't playable yet, but better than my last round .. keep up the good work.
