Carlisle Golf and Country Club - North/East

About
Nestled in a small community just 10 minutes north of Burlington, Ontario, Carlisle Golf & Country Club offers a convenient and affordable golf. The club is open to the public but still offers the benefits of a private club with perfect conditions on all of the golf courses and a friendly, helpful staff.
The North Course is the longest of the three at 3,409 yards from the back tees. There is a fair amount of trees scattered throughout the golf course and the well manicured fairways are always in good condition.
The East Course is the shortest. At 3,179 yards from the back tees, Carlisle Golf & Country Club's East Course is not significantly shorter in length but it is easier than the other two courses. There are trees along the fairways and the manicured greens putt true. There are also several tee deck options to accommodate players of all skill levels.

Great golf
Apart from our playing partner having his wedges stolen right out of his bag at the practice green, I’d say it was a respectable place to play.
The course is a nic challenge if you’re a mid handicap player.
Walking not permitted
I was disappointed to find out I was not allowed to walk. When I booked on line it allowed me to book a walking round and when I arrived at the course I was told I had to pay for and take a power cart. I was informed that this was the policy for two years yet when I explained I played earlier in the year I was allowed to walk with no questions or costs. The club house attendant basically refuted my statement and said that was not possible. I enjoy playing this course but am now not going to return. There were many players with the same issue that I had.
Good course but super slow check in
We arrived ahead of time to hit some balls and have an out, however it took an age to check in and left us with 3 minutes to our tee time. Our buggy broke down on the first and we were advised to lift the seat and switch it off and on and it’d be fine. On the 6th we had to call in as the buggy would not start after 6 attempts. I called the pro shop, straight to answer phone- we had to let a group through and called again. Once answered the Marshall and pal were to us with a new buggy within 10 minutes, so great service there. Would this put us off coming again - no it wouldn’t, a great little track.
Pretty Course
I did the North then East Course. I found the course quite pretty and the greens were challenging as they were undulating.
We were originally supposed to play on the Tuesday but just after we checked in and loaded our cart, the skies opening up and the temp dropped. The staff were quite understanding and issued us a rain check.
This course us quite expensive, so I would only play it if I got a deal via Golfnow.
Never Again
Cart died mid course in the middle of the fairway, not the first time as our cart died a few weeks earlier on a tournament, do they charge these things prior?
Greens were being aerated so there bits of sod and grass all over the putting surface which ruined our day.
Disappointed 😢 in this course for the money you pay to play it I would expect my golf cart can finish a round and that the greens themselves would be a little better kept up?
Last Time Playing Here
I’m not a complainer but the greens were horrible, being Aerated there was pieces of sod and dirt playing havoc with our putting.
The worst of it was our cart died half way through our round in the middle of the fairway which was embarrassing and disruptive, it would be easy to discount this as a random accident but I played here a month ago in a tournament and our cart died once again and without having cell phones we were forced to lug our equipment cross country back to the pro shop, not impressed for sure!
Disappointed is what I’m left with as this course is not cheap by any means, and after explaining that this was the second time in two months our carts died we were offered nothing to compensate us?
I will give the young guys who came out to rescue us high marks as they were there very quickly after explaining our situation to the pro shop.
Aerated Greens, No Distance Stakes, Broken Carts
I don’t normally write reviews, but this course deserves a warning sign. The greens were a complete disaster, half aerated on some holes, untouched on others, leaving you putting across three different speeds from the fringe. To make it worse, the clubhouse staff flat-out lied and said the greens weren’t aerated. If honesty is too much to ask, at least put up a sign so people know what they’re paying for. On top of that, there was no distance stakes anywhere, not a single fairway had one so you’re guessing yardages. And to make it worse, the cart died making us wait as well as the groups behind us mid way through the round. Seeing as it’s managed by Kaneff, I’d expect much better. Maybe Brody from the clubhouse needs to actually walk the course to see the condition of the greens rather than flat out lying on the phone.
Sunday Morning 650a tee off
weather was rain overnight and stopped just before tee off 650a. i thought the course held the rain well with soft greens. overall the course was in good condition. it has it's challenges with trees lining some fairways and greens with tricky putts. Par 3's are short but 1 has water and they have a few short Par 4's. overall i would play here again.
This course is in good condition
Pace of play was slow on our front 9, as it was the back 9 for a couple of groups in front. Most of the course is in good condition, but the greens had a little less break in them to what I'm used to. The staff is always friendly. It was a good value (all in) as I was patient on Golfnow.
Good deal
Played North/South this time.
Course in good shape and no pace issues.
Most of the ball washers didn't have water in them.
Course isn't bad. Two holes that were goofy. Pace is play was bad on the front when you have guys hitting 3 tee shots everg hole. Holding up pace. Staff didn't know what they were talking about when I called in when the course was getting backed up. Luckily we changed the back 9 and flew through the course.
Fun open course
Great layout. Some challenging holes. Nothing too crazy. Except for holes I believe 6 and 7 on north course. Those can be daunting from the blues!
Great time. 4 hour round. Most times it is faster.
