Course
Course was in great shape for theis time of year and because it was cooler this day - no bugs.
Nice Course to Play
This course located in Clinton, Ontario is a lovely outing and worth giving a try. We drove in from 1 hour away and enjoyed our round there. The only negative was the little black flies in the face in many spots around the course. When the wind picked up, we golfed with pleasure. Some of the holes are quite challenging with water/creek/ponds, trees and bunkers to play around. A couple of the holes have rather blind shots, but, when riding...we just checked ahead, so, all was well. The 'clubhouse' is an old barn that has been fixed up as a pro shop. Interesting. The facility offers nice lunch sandwiches (for which we had to wait over 5 minutes before moving on to our next 9 holes...okay though). A round of golf walking is $30, but, we had a special coupon which was lessened the price and included the riding cart. All in all, a nice course to play. (Smell was bad from a farmer applying liquid manure...oh for another day!)
not a single good thing to say
bugs were horrible, almost unplayable. not a single level tee off block, most barely had hittable areas because the grass was worn to the dirt. Being a longer hitter almost half the tee shots are blind which makes for slower play and overall frustration never knowing where you ball ended up. course featured almost no bunkers or water that was actually in play. Senior members walked on the course mid round, jamming things up. I almost walked off this course mid round because I was do displeased with this place. Don't waste your money, when you can play Mitchell or seaforth, which are far far far better options.
Clinton Golfing
Great course conditions. Good pace throughout the whole day - rarely had to wait for people in front.
Course could use some better signage to direct to next hole.
We played until the 18th tee and then noticed the tee blocks to the 15th hole which we missed!
Finished and came back and did the 15th - wondered how our score did not match up.
Would play here again, fairways good greens very good.
A course to satisfy any golfer
Our foursome had a great round under perfect weather conditions on a freshly groomed course. The bugs can be bothersome so bring spray. A few blind shots can you leave searching for the ball so an extra set of eyes can be helpful. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The wave
Course in good condition and plays tough but fair. There are some blind shots which are a challenge for a first time player.
I look forward to playing again.
Woodlands
Great challenge, will use most clubs in the bag. The gnats were a complete nusceince and were bad enough to make me question going back. Nothing ownership can do to control this so you either deal with it or don't play this course
Ejoyable track!
We like this course and play it a few times a month. The staff is friendly. The couse provides enough challenge and is well maintained. Unfortunately the bugs can be a bit aggrivating on some holes- carry some repellent. Later in the season the fairways dry out like most but the greens are geeat.
Good value
Excellent condition, fun to play, nice greens.
Very scenic with elevation changes.
depens upon what you pay
If you're in the area, Woodlands is probably the best course you're going to find. While there are several poorly designed holes that will leave you scratching your head, the stretch from 7 through 11 is really good golf. The 12th could have continued that great run but alas the 2nd shot on this lengthy par 5 is plain stupid. But depending upon what you pay Woodlands represents decent value if you're in the area - just don't go out of your way expecting something great.
Woodlands - Clinton
Course has matured nicely over the years. More difficult from the tips than the course rating. Some long par 4's, challenging par 3's and 5's. Play it if you get the opportunity.
One of the hidden gems
Played this course and it was amazing. It had well manicured fairways and was very challenging. I did drive 1-1/2 hrs to play it and I would drive back again in a heart beat!!!!
This course is worth the drive.
Wonderful day on a beautiful course in Huron County, Ontario. Friendly staff and great course conditions.
Woodland links great Challenge
Played on the Monday before july 1. Course was busy which meant a slower pace of play. We had a member join our 3 some to help speed up play plus local knowledge. Course can be very challenging from the back tees (400 plus yard par 4s, 500 plus par 5s and a par 3 over 230 yards) Some blind tee shots to deal with so study the score card. Greens fairways were in great shape. Will definitely be back for another round. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Real Deal
Great deal at 15$, off Golfnow, on a Mon. at 1pm. We walk in, handed the gal our voucher, she handed the cart key to us, away we went, not like some courses in that area were they try to charge you the taxes or other costs that have already been payed.
Club house is a converted barn, hmm, not sure about that, anyway, the course was in good shape, not busy, and plenty challenging for a 12 and 28 handicappers.
Worth a replay.
Too many flies!
I have only played there twice at different times of the year. Both times there were too many flies to concentrate on any shot, almost quit after nine.
This course is well suited to mid & high handicappers.
Not many memorable holes but fair & of good value.
challanging but fair
a little wet on front nine first 5 holes but was good after that. course in good shape with little winter kill. always a challange
great "out-in-the-country course
outstanding layout, with open and some tight holes...lots of length...just a really great place that's off the radar for most players in the london area...play was very slow but it WAS a long-weekend sunday
